I slowly open my eyes, crying out in pain. Where am I? What happened? Looking around the room, I see lots of nothing. It's just a big empty, dark space. Where could I possibly be? Where's Roman? Where's Logan? I try to stand up but go to realise I'm tied up, hands and feet. I hear something fall.

"Remus!" someone hisses.
"Who's there?" I shout, I'm terrified.
"Oh great, you woke him up." the same voice says. The man steps into the light. Janus? The prince that took me to Logan. Oops... shouldn't have trusted him.
"Why am I here? What are you doing?"
"Poor, poor Patton. Trusted the wrong guy, honey."
"Very wrong guy, Patton."

Another man steps into the light, he's shorter than Janus and he's wearing green. He looks like a duke. I shake my head.
"We have the most precious prince with us. They'll surrender if we have you. Perfect plan. We get peace again." Janus explains.
"Peace again."
"You guys keep wanting war, it's horrific. None of us want to die, we just want a place to live."
"We just want to live."
"Shut up Remus! Ugh." Janus slaps his face. Remus looks hurt.

"You never let me say anything." He pouts.
"Yeah, because you always say the wrong thing."
"That's so unfair."

I chuckle to myself. I like this duo; they would make such a cute couple.

"He should let me speak more, right?" Remus says, turning for my opinion.
"Oh, uh, yeah. You should let him speak more." I smirk.

Janus rolls his eyes and Remus looks like he just won the best thing in his life. "We want the same thing, Janus," I start, "my brother and I think this is a stupid idea and our kingdoms should just become friends. Honestly, your idea is not bad but please untie me."
"How do we know you're not gonna run?"
"Because I want to help. I want peace too." I explain. And I'm not lying. This is most likely going to work. "But you got the wrong prince." I sputter out the last sentence.

Roman has always been better than me, stronger than me, better than me. Mum and dad love him more. It's always been that way. He's way more of a prince then I am.
"What?"
"Roman, he's... he's the more loved one."
"We couldn't take Roman, Virgil didn't want to see him. Sorry, but you'll have to do."
"Oh... okay." Why wouldn't Virgil want to see Roman? I don't dwell on it. Remus starts to untie me when Virgil walks in.

"Hey, sorry about this Pat. We just had to explain so you wouldn't just run."
"All good. I'm fine. Good plan, though."
"Thank you. It was Remus's idea."
"No, it was yours!" Janus explodes.
"No, it was Remus's, you just don't believe me when I say that." Virgil walks over and helps me up.

I pull him into a hug, I don't know why but Roman loved him so I will too.
"I'm sorry Mum and Dad banished you." I whisper. Virgil is also taller than me, I'm short... he's built up well, a runner Roman said, he now has purple streaks through his hair.
"It's okay Patton. The only thing I miss from the lightside is Roman. The dark Kingdom is way better, if this doesn't work out then you should run away and come live with us."

"Maybe I'll take you up on that offer." I smile. He smiles back and turns around, offering a drink.

The four of us talk for a while about my horrible acting skills and such. Janus talks the most, pinned as the leader of the group. Remus copies Janus, it's amusing to watch. Virgil sits next to me and whispers unrelated stuff to me, while Janus rants. It's actually some of the best fun I've had in a while. Then I suddenly remember Logan.

"Logan." I say out loud, I sink back into my chair, hoping they didn't hear that.
"Logan? Oh, he's out the back if your wondering. He's in on the plan and stuff he's just on the phone to someone, now that I think about it, he's been out there for a while. I'll go check on him." Virgil says.

"I can." I say, quickly leaving. What's gotten into me? Why am I this excited to see someone? I walk outside and spot Logan sitting, leaning over. I think he's shaking. I run up to him. "Logan?"
"Patton! You're up!" he smiles, wiping a tear from his eyes.
"Are you alright?"
"Oh, uh, yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking about someone."
"You want to talk about it?"
"No but thanks for asking." He smiles and stands up, brushing himself off.
"Logan?"
"Yeah?" He turns to me, his hand brushes mine lightly. I blush. What is wrong with me today?
"Oh- uh... can I hug you? You seem upset and stuff and you look like you need a hug and-" I'm cut off by Logan's arms wrapping around.
"You're weird Patton." He chuckles into my hair. I blush.

What is wrong with me? Do I like Logan? No! No way! I hardly realise he's pulled away until the heat leaves my body. I stop myself from pouting, already missing his strong arms around me. "Are you alright, Patton? You look distressed."
"Oh, yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking about stuff." I feel my face getting redder.
"Patton?" he waves a hand in front of my face, "you keep zoning out. Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yes, I'm fine."

"Hey guys, we have dinner." Virgil calls from the door. Logan grabs my hand and we walk inside. I try to hide my blush.
"Logan!" Janus fake gasps, "where did you come from?" Logan smirks and sits down at one end of the table. Everyone else is seated already so I take my spot next to Remus and Virgil.

I realise that these guys know each other well, they come here often. The conversation drifts its way to Roman. I perk up when I hear his name, everything else they've talked about I didn't understand.
"So, are we going to get him on the plan too?" Logan asks.
"No." Virgil answers.
"Yes." Janus says at the same time. The glare at each other. "Virgil, darling, you need to get over yourself and your feelings and let him into this plan. I personally think it will improve everything."

"How? What's he going to do?"
"He's the main figure of the Light Sides and even though we have Patton here we need more then that. Patton even said so."
"He's right, Virgil." I say, looking at Virgil, he had tears in his eyes, I feel horrible, "the only person that will realise I'm missing is Roman. You and I both know that. Hardly any other person knows I exist!"
"That's not true-"
"To your surprise it actually is true. No one knows who I am because my parents don't think I'm good enough to be a prince!" I shout, not meaning to get angry but I can't help it. It hurts being forgotten; it hurts being unloved by your own family. "I'm the reject! At the first chance they get they'll throw me away. You should've gotten Roman!" I scream at them, tears stream down my face and my voice breaks.

I sit back down, abruptly, wiping the tears away. They keep falling. "S-sorry... I'm sorry." I whisper into the silence. They all watch me, silently, waiting for something. I look down at my food, it's gone cold now.

Taking my glasses of, I rub my eyes. I can hear someone moving around the table. I wave them off and everyone starts to clear the table and they start doing the dishes. Virgil comes up to me, sitting on the chair Remus was sitting on.
"Hey, buddy."
"Hey." I give him a weak smile.
"I know what it's like to feel so much less then Roman. You'll be okay. Come here." He pulls me into a hug. I sob into his shoulder.
"V-virgil, what-what would you do-do if you had no-no one who wanted you?"
"I'd stay here." He whispers, rubbing my back. "Maybe we could not do anything, maybe we could just stay here as a group of five forever. Everyone will die and then we'll have this all to ourselves. Wouldn't that be nice?" I smile into his purple and black hood.

"That would be nice." Pulling back, I put my glasses back on. "But what about Roman? Even though I'm jealous of him that doesn't mean I don't love him. Can- can he come here? And stay with us?"
"I- I don't know Pat." He sighs, "I don't know if I can see him again."
"He misses you."
