Bilbo

Bilbo friendship-

Me and the company have been in Rivendell only a day. I have been here many times but this is the company's first time here excluding Gandalf. It is around midday and the sun is shining like a beautiful beacon in the sky. I decided to take my lunch outside into one of the many gardens that lie in the city. I'm currently sitting on a patch of grass under a tree, eating the many oddities I decided to take with me. My keen ears pick up the sound of light footsteps heading this way. I look up in curiosity at who it may be and my eyes meet the hazel ones of Bilbo.
"Oh there you are y/n" he smiles.
"Would you like to join in my feast. I managed to sneak out a few sweet treats if you'd like" I offered.
"Well that sounds lovely" he says as I pat on a patch of grass next to me.
"Are you enjoying your visit to Rivendell so far? I know when I first came here it was and still is a magnificent sight" I questioned. Bilbo looks out over the garden and his eyes gaze at the nearby fountain.
"Magnificent is one word for it. Everything just seems so, so... Pristine. The whole city seems so old and full of history. It truly is a magical sight" he states. His head turns to me and he asks "How are finding it. Being back here?". My mind ponders that question and I eventually come up with an answer.
"With all that's going on in our lives right now, Rivendell seems strange. I've been travelling with you and the dwarves for a few months now and not once have I felt safe. Orcs are everywhere so you have to always be on your guard. Rivendell is making me feel safe and because I haven't felt safe in months, the feeling is indescribable" I finally say. I glance up at Bilbo who's eyes are on me. He gives me smile and places my hand in his own. He then looks back into the garden and I follow his actions. He gives my hand a slight squeeze and I smile. With all the danger in our lives, having a moment of peace seems impossible, but here I am. Under a tree on a patch of grass with my friend, enjoying life and forgetting about the dangers which we will face in the future.
