Gathering of Imagines

College 🎓

A/N: Let me just say, we based this imagine on how it would be if the Gladers majored in the same subject that their namesake was known for. Therefore, take this imagine with an extra grain of salt because WICKED may have taught them some things but I don't think advanced physics was something that they cared to teach.

Oh, and we had to make up something for Minho (since he wasn't named after a past genius) and Teresa (since she was named after a saint/nun). Everyone else's majors have been taken straight from The Maze Runner Wiki.

Also, did anybody else know just how much these geniuses/icons actually knew and did? I mean, talk about having a finger in every pie, amiright?

In an alternate era where klunk did not hit the fan, The Gladers actually manage to grow up

And pursue their majors!

Thomas (Thomas Edison) - Engineering | His biggest inspirations hit him in the dead of night; some of which prompt him to try to stay up the whole night to get it working. (No, he's not having trouble sleeping. Not at all. Or maybe a little. Just don't tell, Newt!). Almost didn't even enter a university because he thought it'd be better to just immediately become an inventor. But the rest of the Gladers talked him into applying anyway. (Some smacked him into it. We're looking at you Minho).

CHUCK: Thomas, did you even sleep last night?

THOMAS (so tired that anyone can very clearly see his eyebags): Yes, I did. Don't worry about it.

CHUCK (not buying Thomas's klunk): Yeah, okay. Oh. (he looks over Thomas's shoulder and raises his hand to wave) Hey, Newt!

Thomas freezes for a second before frantically pulling something out of his pocket. He starts dabbing at the space beneath his eyes, trying to conceal the darkened area.

CHUCK: AHA! You never use concealer unless you haven't been sleeping!

THOMAS: Okay, fine! Just don't tell Newt that.

NEWT: Tell me what, Tommy?

Thomas contemplates how fast he can run in his drowsy state. [A/N: Let's pray for Thomas]

Minho - Track and Field Scholarship | Is involved in 95% of the fights in his year of students. Has also tussled with the teachers. But has not gotten expelled or even suspended because he dabbles in law. (He wins because they either start getting nervous around him or he follows them around until he's sure he has the last word). Sometimes, when fights won't work, he resorts to more...practical measures. His fast legs are perfect for him to get away quickly and quietly. (Minho gets high fives whenever he targets the teachers).

Minho stares at the plastic container in his hands. The scent of the rotting vegetables makes him scowl. He sighs in the same way that a KDrama character would.

Suddenly, he sees his target. He smiles on the inside.

MINHO: Okay, no more wasting time.
