The past week has been crazy (wedding ceremony got cancelled AGAIN but it's rescheduled somewhere else already 😅), but I'm determined to post this week and next week before I take a few weeks off of posting due to a little cottage getaway, wedding prep, moving and my actual wedding ceremony.

This chapter has sexual themes included! I've decided to leave the sex scene out, so if you want to read my attempt I've linked it in the chapter's external URL (it's a view-only google doc). This is the first sex scene I've written since I was a 15 year-old virgin who knew nothing so please don't laugh too hard! The --- indicates where you should jump to the Google doc and when to come back.

As usual, don't forget to leave a like if you enjoy it and comment as well! I love your comments so much and seeing all of the familiar faces popping up. Have a great weekend and keep staying safe! - Amy

Once they materialized in Olympus, Apollo handed Lexi's unconscious body over to Artemis and Athena, who would bring her to Zeus and start digging into what happened. Danika quickly took a shower and changed into the casual robes she'd worn home from the mall.

"Don't they need us to go with them?" Danika asked, walking out of the closet.

Apollo shook his head. "Not right now. My priority is that you're taken care of first. What happened to you can be very traumatic and I want to make sure you're all right."

Danika frowned. "I'm feeling a lot better now that I've showered. Plus, nothing actually happened. You got there just in time."

Apollo clenched his fists. "It went way too far and I'll never forgive myself for not being there. No one gets to touch you like that."

"Your eyes are starting to glow again," Danika pointed out, amazed.

Apollo shook his head. "Sorry about that. What I saw enraged me like nothing else. I haven't been that angry in centuries and I've been having trouble controlling my jealousy for the last day."

Danika walked toward him and grabbed his hand. "Why are you even jealous? Lexi's my ex-girlfriend for a reason."

     Apollo looked away. "It's silly."

     "Tell me," Danika whispered.

Apollo sighed. "The whole time that I watched you speak reminded me that you were just a normal girl who grew up in the human realm. You didn't have to worry about gods, the underworld or the dead coming after you. You had your ex-girlfriend right in front of you."

Danika smiled. "I don't want her back. I don't want anyone else"

"I know that now," Apollo said. "While I'm certainly not a fan of hers, Lexi's normal and could've given you a normal life. I took that away from you," he said, looking down in shame.

"Hey," Danika said, lifting his chin back up. "I would've died without you. You didn't have a choice in my existence. You sacrificed your own happiness, potentially for the rest of time, just so I could live. You could've ignored me and gone on like normal." She brushed his hair back. "I don't have any feelings left for Lexi. I don't know why I dated her in the first place. She's kind of an asshole."

Apollo chuckled at that and nodded. "I do agree with that. I'm still sorry either way. I shouldn't be acting so controlling of you. I need to learn how to be more sensitive to the fact that you're stuck with me because of my own selfish decision."

Danika's brows scrunched together. "Selfish decision? It was selfless of you to save my life. Like I said, you could've gone on living your life, but now you have to drag me along or I have to die. I'm being selfish for not making the choice to go to the underworld forever."
