Three more chapters are left after this one 😱 NaNoWriMo started this past Sunday and I'm already 15k words into the next instalment in this series.  While I plan to complete the first draft by the end of the month, I wan to take a few months off as a break to edit it so I can start uploading it in Spring of 2021 weekly, just like I did with this novel. Welcome to any new readers! Don't forget to vote if you enjoy and leave a comment letting me know what you think! I love you all for sticking with this novel and hope you look forward to the end 🥰 - Amy

TW: There are some themes (not explicit) of self-harm in this chapter.

Danika's first few days of welcome-week went by in a blur. She wasn't in the mood for the university parties she'd randomly been invited to all over campus, knowing that at any moment she'd be summoned back to Olympus to go after Hera.

Ares had begrudgingly agreed to help bring Hera back after Zeus threatened locking him up with Kronos for a thousand years. All they were waiting for was for Ares to receive communication from the Queen of the gods.

"Are you sure you don't want to go to any parties?" Apollo asked for the third time that morning. "I trust you and want you to have fun and some semblance of normalcy."

Danika smiled at him as she loaded the dishwasher from their early lunch. "I seriously don't want to go. You know parties aren't my thing and even if you were to go with me I'd rather stay in with you and have our own fun."

Apollo wiggled his brows. "I love the insatiable side-effects of you becoming a goddess."

Danika pulled him closer to her.  "Well I hope it dies down soon because it's really hard to concentrate when I'm constantly horny."

"It should fade in a few weeks," Apollo laughed and removed his shirt. "But I'm going to take advantage of it whenever I can." He pulled Danika into a kiss, smiling when she moaned into his mouth.

"Get that shirt back on or I swear to Zeus I'll put it on for you," Artemis screamed, making the couple jump apart.

"Artemis!" Apollo yelled at his twin. "What did I tell you about showing up unannounced?"

Danika's face was red as she straightened out her clothes. "A heads-up would've been nice," she mumbled.

Artemis crossed her arms. "Ares finally got the letter," she explained. "We're heading to Argos now."

"We'll get changed and head over," Danika nodded, moving toward the walk-in-closet attached to the master bedroom. It wasn't anywhere near as large as the one in Olympus, but it was all she needed.

"There's no time for that," Artemis grabbed her arm. "We have to move quickly before Hera sniffs us out and disappears to somewhere else."

Apollo put his shirt back on, cracking his neck and back while stretching. "Let's finally finish this."

Danika took Apollo and Artemis' hands and the room changed into a beachfront. "Wow," she whispered, looking out into the water. It's really beautiful here. The sun was starting to set, making it reflect beautifully on the water.

"Did she tell you exactly where she is?" Apollo asked the moment Ares appeared.

Ares crossed his arms. "She did, but if you're going to be such a thorn in my side I won't make this easy."

Danika watched Apollo's hands turn into fists and gently grabbed his arm. "It's ok," she whispered to him before he could retaliate. "We'll find her."
