Matt Donovan was playing on his PSP when he heard the doorbell. When he opened the door he was so happy. It was his girlfriend Rebekah Miakelson. It's been a week since she went to work in New York City at her older brother's company. And he really missed her so much.

"Well. Hello there missy. You like exactly like my beautiful girlfriend. Perhaps you know her. Blonde with blue eyes and goes by the name Rebekah Miakelson," said Matt teasingly.

"In fact, I know her very well. She's me mister. Did you do that to the other girls at the grill when I wasn't here?," teased Rebekah back at her boyfriend.

"None of them were as beautiful and gorgeous as you sweetheart," whispered Matt.

Rebekah had to get closer so she could hear him.

"Really?! Do you mean that for real?," asked Rebekah insecurely.

Matt hugged her so tightly to himself saying "Of course, you know that I always tell you the truth. You can compel me to check if I was lying or not. I love you like no one else in this world Bekkah." He hates to see his girlfriend this insecure. Yet, it's kind of adorable to see the original gets insecure and it's because of him. He loves Rebekah like he never loved before. Even with his ex-girlfriend April; he never felt that alive. He never felt as if he was her treasure. Only Rebekah makes him feel this way. Like there's no other man in the world who is as important as he is although he knows how much she's attached to her brother, Klaus.

Rebekah knew that he was telling her the truth, so, instead of saying anything; she kissed him passionately a very long kiss that took both their breaths away.

"No need for that Mattie. I know that you always speak that truth. It's just I can't believe how lucky I'm to fall in love with you. You're the first person I love who doesn't want to take any advantage of me," explained Rebekah to her boyfriend.

"Honey, how many times do I have to tell you that I'm not like the other previous guys? I love you unconditionally and I'd never use or hurt you," said Matt assuring.

"I know you said countless times but I love it when you assure me. That's a nice feeling Mattie, to feel like a little insecure fragile girl. Oh, I miss that feeling. Instead of being the powerful original vampire I'm all the time, let me feel like a normal girl who has a normal life with a handsome boyfriend like you," said Rebekah knowingly.

And with that, Matt approached his girlfriend to show her how much he loves her. He took her into his arms and sat with her on the couch. He already opened the radio for some light music. He did nothing but holding her into his arms whispering few love words into her ears. He wanted her to know that there'll never be another woman who will be inside his house or between his arms but her.

Rebekah lied into her boyfriend's arms, letting his presence to calm down her insecurity while enjoying the light music coming from the radio. Then she fell asleep.

Matt carried his girlfriend to their room and laid her down on the bed. He knew how much his girl was exhausted from her flight and the work trip.

He went to start getting ready for tonight's party. But first he fixed himself some coffee to drink and a light snack for Rebekah to eat when she wakes up from her nap.

He then started humming a song that was stuck in his head when his phone rang. It was Jeremy Gilbert, his buddy.

"Hello Jer," answered Matt politely.

"Hi Mattie. How are you and Rebekah?," asked Jeremy.

"Fine. She's napping currently. You know how flying is very tiring.", said Matt sweetly drinking his coffee.

"Oh, you're lovey-dovey again. Aren't you?," said Jeremy jokingly.

"Jeremy Gilbert. You'd better watch yourself or I'm going to tell your sister how her baby bro is acting teasingly again," said Matt seriously but muffling a smile. He loves Jeremy's teasing.

"Okay, okay, just chill out. I was joking and you know that," said Jeremy seriously.

Matt didn't say a word about that. He finished preparing Rebekah's snack, a peanut butter sandwich. He then asked his friend about his girl.

"And how is Bonnie, dude?," asked Matt.

"She's very fine. She was busy with her classes today. I thought she was going crazy about some kid who didn't do the homework the way she explained to. But thank God that she finally calmed down," said Jeremy explaining.

"You know how teaching is tiring Jer, specially for kids," said Matt.

"Yes, I know. I'm just glad that it's the weekend and today there's a party where she can relax and enjoy herself," said Jeremy happily.

"Dude, we've been talking for an hour. We've to go to be ready for the party or Caroline will kill us if we miss the beginning," said Matt seriously.

"Yes, you're right. We're going to be late and we don't want to get lectured from our Care friend," said Jeremy laughingly.

Matt laughed to himself and said goodbye to Jeremy since he's to go and wake up his princess to get ready for the party.

After he hung up with Jeremy, Matt went to their room to awaken Rebekah.

"Rise and shine Sleeping Beauty or we're going to be late for our Care's party. And you know she'll be nagging us for showing up late," whispered Matt into Rebekah's ears.

Rebekah opened her eyes.

"Is it time already?," sighed Rebekah. She was so exhausted and this hour she slept wasn't enough for her to gain her relaxing. She wanted to continue sleeping but she knew what would happen if she didn't show up to Elena's party that her big brother's girlfriend, Caroline prepared. Klaus would be upset too. So, she dragged herself off the bed reluctantly and took her phone.

"Yes, it is. But first, here, I've made you a light snack. Your favorite, peanut butter sandwich," said Matt tenderly.

"Oh, thanks Mattie. You're the best boyfriend a girl could ever ask for," said Rebekah happily munching on her sandwich.

"Come on princess. I'm going to drive you to the Salvatores then I'll go with the other guys to your mansion for the preparation. It feels like it's someone's engagement or wedding party. Ladies prepare themselves in a house while the men into another," said Matt amusingly.

"Of course, it's important for us to look stunning tonight. Our Elena has finally started her society debut as it's used to be in the past. Making a party to introduce a young woman to the society. And since we're her friends we're supposed to look appropriate although it's Elena's night," explained Rebekah to her boyfriend.

"It feels like we're back in time," said Matt smiling.

"I know," said Rebekah laughingly.
