Freya was happy her father was gone.
She didn't have to be afraid of Storm pulling an attack on her- at least, for the few days that he was gone.
She could actually do as she pleased without Storm interrupting her with an abuse session. She could play outside with no fear again. She could actually eat for once in peace. There were no more arguments between her parents. Mist didn't need to waste the little energy that she had left to protect Freya.
The purple eyed pup was laying down beside her mother one afternoon, boredly. It was a few days after Storm left to go to the Alpha meeting. Her ear flicked to shoo a fly away from landing on her ear.
Mist seemed to notice Freya's boredom, she lifted her head with a struggle and looked at her daughter. "You have been cooped up in here for quite some time, how about you go outside and stretch your legs? You need it." She said, her voice raspy. She then coughed.
Freya's ear's immediately perked and she sat up, her little tail wagging a little. "Really?" She asked. "Are you sure?"
Mist nodded and smiled a bit, "I'll be okay for a little while." She said.
The Sky Heir leaped to her paws, "Thanks mom! I love you!" She said and ran over to her mother, licked her cheek and then ran outside.
The fresh air felt amazing! It was so fresh and cool compared to the hot stuffy chambers of the Healers Den. This was a welcome change for the young pup.
Freya smiled, it also felt so good to stretch her legs. She had been cooped up in that den keeping her mother's company for quite a while.
Then Freya heard her stomach growl in hunger, and that's when she realized how little she'd actually eaten in the past while. she had been glued to her mother's side.
The pup then decided to go get some food. She padded over to the huge food pile where all of the hunted prey that the hunters got was. Freya's mouth watered as she looked up at it. It looked and smelled so wonderful! She saw a juicy looking rabbit on the pile and dragged it off and carried it over to a spot underneath a large pine tree and sat down, then she started tearing into her meal.
When Freya was about halfway done, she had a feeling that she was being watched. The hairs on her back stood up. She looked around and then noticed that her brothers, Cloud and Lightning were standing a few paces from her, glaring down at her with their cold grey eyes, she also noticed that they brought friends. She groaned, what did they want this time?
"Well, well, well, look what we have here... If it isn't Freya, the little runt." Said Lightning, smirking.
Freya pinned her ears against her head, "what do you want this time, Lightning?" She hissed, glaring back.
"Oh Freya, my dear sister, you should know by now, this is our spot." He said, gesturing to him and the pups in his little 'gang'.
Freya growled, "since when? Last time I checked, this was just free, open space. Part of the Sky Pack territory. No one owns it. It's for everyone to share." She retorted.
Lightning growled, his eyes narrowing, "what did you just say?" He said, his voice level rising.
"You heard exactly what i said. You and your little 'gang' don't own anything." Freya said.
Cloud growled, "i think stupid Freya needs to be taught a lesson, what do you think Lightning? She can't keep talking back to us like this." He said. Lightning nodded, looking at his brother, "your right Cloud, this stupid runt needs to learn to listen when our gang comes around." He said, "especially since her crimes weren't just defying us."
