Emptiness. A hollow void inside his soul. It was a force that tore his heart in two.

Everything felt so cold without her by his side. His cave felt so empty without her inside to fill it.

Storm lay on his pelt, his eyes staring at a random crack in the wall. His mind wandered to a place so far away, to another time, before the troubles of this horrid sickness came and stole her away from him. Before that disgraceful abomination was born, when he was a carefree youngster that didn't know the troubles and loss and hardships of this time.

When he was just a carefree youngster, recently crowned Alpha of the Sky, soon after his father's death... Yes, the time was a bit sad, but he had also been excited and happy that he was the new Alpha of a pack...and the day when he first met Mist...that was the best day of all.

Storm padded through the tall grass, taking in the scenery around him. The trees were lush and green, and the earth beneath his paws was damp and sparkling with the morning dew.

The clouds above were light and wispy. It was a fine and beautiful morning, and the newly crowned Alpha was in a good mood.

He thought of his Crowning Ceremony once again that took place only a few days before.

The journey to the Crystal Caverns..standing in front of the pillar of clouds and electricity where the Sky Gem was. The gem coming into his forehead and the surge of power he felt when it accepted him as the new Alpha of the Sky, and afterwards the gifts and the big celebration he received when he came back to his home...it was a wonderful experience.

Storm was so caught up in his day-dreaming that he almost didn't see the pretty she-wolf crouching in the tall grass a few wing-lengths away, stalking a large rabbit.

As soon as he noticed her though, he stepped on a stray twing. It snapped, alerting the rabbit of the wolves' presence, and also snapping Storm out of his memories.

The she-wolf sprang after her prey, but it was too late, the rabbit bolted and disappeared back down its burrow, safe from the jaws of the predator for another day.

The winged female snarled and cursed loudly before whirling around to face Storm. "You scared away my prey! How the heck am I supposed to hunt and provide for the pack if you're tramping along the underbrush and scaring away all the prey on Cloud Hill?!" she yelled, then she looked the Alpha up and down. "Oh, that makes sense now. You're an Alpha. You don't care what you're doing as long as you have food in front of you. Ha, Alpha's like you only care about themselves and don't care about the hungry wolves standing right in front of them! All you do is laze around and control the elements, while wolves like me actually help this pack!" she yelled.

Storm just stared at her, not really paying attention to her words. While most wolves who spoke like that to their Alpha would get punished severely, he just kept staring, his eyes traveling every inch of her body before coming to rest on her face again. She was still yelling at him, but her words were drowned out by his heart thumping in his chest. She was beautiful. The most beautiful wolf he had ever laid eyes on.

Storm smiled dreamily at her, his heart thumping faster. "did anyone ever tell you that you are the prettiest wolf in all the skies?"

The she-wolf stopped talking in the middle of her sentence and glared at him. Her look like icy daggers piercing into him. But Storm just thought the more she looked at him, that she may be interested in a handsome Alpha like himself. Of course she would be. He thought and winked at her. He was a handsome wolf...

"Were you even listening to anything I was saying?" the grey and white swirled wolf asked.

Storm shook his head, still smirking. "Nope."
