After Storm had left Mist's healing chamber, Freya had snuck back in to see her mother who had woken up again and was still in the sling.
When Mist saw her daughter at the opening, she motioned her to come over to her. The Earth Wolf Healer's were still in the room, but now they were just reading and writing their scrolls and books silently, not really paying attention to the two.
Freya walked over to her mother quietly, keeping her head low. After what happened with her father finding her, she didn't want him to see her, or else he would physically hurt her next time. She escaped lucky that time, but it probably wasn't going to happen again...
The pup stood in front of her mother and nuzzled her face, "mama?" Freya whispered quietly, "are you going to be okay? Did The Earth Wolves help you? Are you going to be okay?" she asked, still aware of the other wolves in the room.
Mist looked at her daughter and raised her head weakly, "oh Freya...my precious pup...I-i need to tell you some things....." she said, her voice still raspy. She coughed a couple times.
Freya tilted her head, "w-what type of things..?" she asked.
Mist continued on, her face took on a pained, saddened expression, "I-i'm afraid..i need to..leave you for now... but i must tell you some things..."
"W-what?! n-no! no mama no!!" Freya yelled, tears filled her eyes and streamed down her face, her mother was going to die!! no!! she couldn't die!
"Now, now, don't cry my dear...please don't cry....i- i need you to be strong for me Freya, i need you to be strong..." Mist said, drying her daughter's tears. "And don't give up, alright? Never, ever give up." Freya nodded, "I-I-I'll try m-mother....." the pup said.
"That's my girl..." said Mist, then her voice went into a hoarse whisper, "and Freya, find the wolf with the red scarf tied around her neck...she will help you.......on your.....journey..... .......i......i love......... y....." Mist's voice faded away as her eyes closed, and her head lowered to the ground in slow motion.
"Mama...? M-mother?! MOM!!" Freya screamed, a racking sob burst from her body and tears streamed down her face, soaking her cheek fur, was her mother gone? was she gone for ever? no! no! she couldn't be!
The Earth Wolves heard the pups cries and looked up from their books. Realizing what must have happened, the dark green she-wolf with light green markings- Evergreen, stood up and padded over to the sobbing pup, she was concerned and felt bad for the pup to lose her mother at such a young age, she opened her mouth and started speaking, "I know i haven't known your mother for very long....and you don't know me that well...but i've heard your mother was a great wolf-"
"FREYA!!!!!" a loud, angry sounding voice boomed.
Freya's body went rigid, she spun around and saw the angry, looming figure of Storm at the entrance of the Healing Chamber.
The first thing Storm saw as he stepped into the other Healing Chamber again was the dead, limp body of his mate in the Earth Wolves sling, then the thing closest to it. The evil little runt.
"FREYA!!!!!!" he yelled, mixed feelings of anger, grief and rage filled his body all at once.
The purple eyed abomination spun around to face him, her tearful eyes wide in fright.
The sight of her face made him loathe her even more. "You did this! You evil, little, thieving brat!" he spat, "you stole my mate's last words!! You stole her last breath!!" he yelled. The accusations flowed out of his mouth, he didn't even care anymore that the Earth Wolves were in the room hearing everything he was saying. it felt good putting the blame on the stupid brat. She didn't have one of his beatings for a long time.
