Chapter 37: sweetness and sorrow

Swinging from building to building, ladybug jumps across the roof. The sight of the akuma was visible to her eyes. As she stood upon the building behind the accident, ladybug seemed to be convinced that this akuma wasn't ordinary.

It was different than the one they fought four months ago. Just the eerie details on this akuma was odd enough for it to look like it. "Somethings not right" Ladybug muttered to herself and swung over to the akuma, hitting its back with her yoyo as she landed smoothly on swift air.

"Hey Lady! Come get my miraculous!" Ladybug yelled playfully. The akuma turned its head to her view and snarled at the red bug. Chatnoir, who was still stuck in the sticky slime shouted "Ladybug No!" As if he was concerned about her well being.

The creature snapped its jaws and flung over to ladybug. Causing her to tumble on the ground with utter shock. She didn't expect it to have quite the speed. As her body sat on the hard ground her mind and body froze in complete dismay. "Maybe this wasn't a good idea"

Chatnoir widened his eyes. "She's going to get hurt!"

As he thought of a way to break through the hardening slime, he noticed a blue figure on top of one of the buildings. He squinted his eyes to see the view. The figure had a blue suit and dark blue hair fading to light, on his left hand was a harp.

Familiar..

That guy was familiar...

As the Man stood on top of the building, Chatnoir saw him strumming his harp,

One strum,

Two..

Then..

"SKREEIEEEE!!!!" A high pitch voice shook the whole city. "Argh!" Chatnoir winced at the life threatening sound. As he turned his head over to the akuma, its face was now demolished into a horrifying discovery. The akuma did not look like an human now, it was a monster.

It's eyes shrunk to the size of beans and what remained on its face was the big black mouth with several sharp teeth containing liquid drools of purple slime. "Ladybug get away from there!" The man shouted as ladybug widened her eyes.

"Viperion!"

As the monster flung towards viperion, Chatnoir loosened his trap from the slime and quickly snatched ladybug from the ground. "You okay M'lady?" Chat asked while he carried ladybug as they flew over from building to building.

"What? Oh..yeah" Ladybug startled. Chatnoir furrowed his eyes in concern. After a couple of minutes, Chatnoir dropped ladybug onto a balcony where both exhaled deep breathes. "My friend lives here, please stay with her for now. I don't want you getting hurt" He said while Ladybug stood on the floor while Chatnoir sat on the balcony ledge.

It was when she realized that this, was her balcony. "Uh-? Is this Marinette's house?" Ladybug plundered with complete oblivion. "Yes. Stay with her for a while till me and viperion gets this job done. It's my fault you almost got beaten by that akuma"

"It's not an akuma" Ladybug replied, chat tilted his head. "It's a sentimonster!"

"A sentimonster? Then if that's a sentimonster, then the peacock owner must be close! Stay here, I'll look for them-"

"Great, now come on" Ladybug grabbed her yoyo but Chatnoir stopped her movements in time. "No" he said firmly, snatching the weapon and hiding it behind his back. "Stay here with Marinette. I will not be seeing you on the battle failed today m'lady" Chat kissed the back of ladybug's hand. "But I'm perfectly capable of fighting chat!" Ladybug argued.

Chatnoir groaned. "Sweetness you can't fight! Do you see yourself right now? Do I need to get you a body length mirror? Or have you forgotten your predicament already? M'lady you are carrying a baby. My baby—our baby!" Chat spat back as ladybug furrowed her eyebrows.
