CHAPTER 15

The Truth

A LIFELESS AND COLD man was standing quite a distance away, but enough for them to hear his words. He's wearing branded clothes that make him look even more expensive. I've never felt this vibe from him before.

So, Sebastian is a rich man, too?

"At sino ka naman para mangielam dito?" mataray na pagkakatanong ni Jeddah.

Sebastian purposely ignored her question and diverted his attention to me. "Maximo, akala ko ba mahal mo ang kaibigan ko? Ano 'to?" There's a streak of insult in his voice while showing no emotion.

"Sino ka ba? Puwede ba lumayas ka sa harapan namin? At ikaw Maximo, sumama ka na sa'min nang matapos na ang kahibangan na 'to!" sigaw ng ama nito.

"Mahal ko nga si William hindi niyo ba ako maintindihan?" mabilis namang sinabatan ni Lord Andrew 'yon.

"De puta! What a disgusting use of words! Aren't you scared of abominations? Mag-isip ka nga!" Dahil sa galit ng ama ay hindi na nito napigilan ang sarili na saktan ang anak. He jabbed him on the stomach, causing him to writhe in pain.

"Huwag niyong saktan si Maximo!" William shouted while forcing himself to escape from the security.

"Hindi ka titigil?!" Jeddah was still pointing the gun on his forehead.

"Barilin niyo na ako kung babarilin niyo ako!" panghahamon naman ni William dahil naiinis na ito. There's so much happening in his mind and he couldn't hold them all at once.

"You will put that hand gun down or I will call the cops to bring you to the police station?" Sebastian suddenly butted into the conversation and asked her fearlessly while both of his hands were inside the front pocket.

"Ano bang akala mo natatakot kami? Can't you see? We have security to protect us! So, if I were you, leave us here and find your own place!" Andrew shooed him away that made the latter smirk.

"They are not registered here in Brick Lane, meaning to say all of you, even the weapons you're holding right now, are considered illegal. Judging by the scene, it looks like you're ambushing someone here in the village. You want me to call the Philippine Embassy or the Brick Lane cops to apprehend you? Ilalayo mo 'yan kay William o tatapusin ko ang career ng pamilya niyo?" sinabi niya 'yon ng isang hingahan lang at tila'y walang nagbabago sa ekspresyon.

"Walang hiya pala 'tong lalaking 'to, eh," ani Andrew at halata na nagtitimpi ng galit.

"I could not imagine that someone like Maximo would have the stupidest parents in the entire universe." Sinusubukang laitin at galitin ni Sebastian ang mga magulang ni Maximo para na rin makaganti ito sa panganay nilang anak na pinili ng lalaking minamahal niya.

"Whoever you are, we don't give a fucking damn about you! You better leave us here or else you won't like what I can do to you," mahina ngunit tiim-bagang na pagkakasabi ni Andrew.

Matapos niyang sabihin 'yon ay humarap na siya kay Maximo at puwersado itong kinuwelyuhan. "Anak kita, kaya wala kang magagawa kapag sinabi kong magpapakasal ka kay Sarah."

"Sir, mahal ko po ang anak niyo," buong lakas na pagkakasabi ni William sa ama na ikinatuwa naman ni Maximo at kabaligtaran kay Sebastian. Hearing it from his own mouth makes me feel even more scathing.

"Did I ask?"

"Please leave our lives alone. Mahal ko po 'yung panganay ninyo at nangangako ako na hindi ko pababayaanㅡ" hindi pa man natatapos ni William ang kaniyang sasabihin nang bigla na lang sumingit si Jeddah.
