I arrived outside at the mini arena. I had never used a sword in my life ONCE and know they wanted me to learn. This was going to one class that I was definitely going to fail in. The teacher stood in the front of the class in armour and holding a sword and his helmet. He had short blonde hair and blue eyes and even with his armour on you could tell he was very buff. Attached at his shoulders was his long, flowing, red cape. Standing off to one side was Faramir, turns out we had two classes in a row together. Not knowing anyone else in the class, although Aragorn and Eowen were also in this class, I went over to stand next to Faramir.
"I guess we are seeing each other sooner than Wednesday" I said to his as I stopped next to him and I startled him.
"Hello, I didn't realize you would be in this class" He said smiling.
"What? Can women not learn how to fight?" I asked him
"No, you just do not look like someone who would fight. You seem too..."
"Innocent" I finished for him.
"Yeah" he said
"Well, I am actually quite skilled in archery and I took Karate when I was in high school" I told him.
"You have never used a sword though?" He asked
"No, this is a first" I told him laughing.
"Well then I will help you learn. My father had me learn when I was younger" he told me
"I would really appreciate it" I told him smiling.
"Hello Class. I'm your teacher and you will refer to me either as Mr. Pendragon or sir. This class is going to be very dangerous for those of you who don't know how to fight, and for those of you who do it will still be dangerous. For now we will be using wooden swords, and until you are ready, some will be ready before others, you will get and actual sword. At the end of each month I will give the people who I think are ready to move on their sword and they will move on to actual combat fighting. For today's class we are going to get you all fitted into armour and get you each a wooden sword to use. When you are ready try and find a partner who know what they are going if you don't and one who doesn't if you do and you can help to teach them" Arthur explained
Me and Faramir walked over to where everyone else was getting their armour. We were waiting for quite a while because most people didn't know anything.
"Look, you are the only woman in this class" Faramir said and pointed over at Eowen. Suddenly I had this desire to make this ship sail like it had it the books.
"Yeah, that is Eowen" I told him.
"Do you know her?" He asked me.
"Not personally, but I do from a book" I explained. He tilted his head in confusion. "It's this series I read in high school called The Lord of The Rings. It takes place in Middle Earth and it's about Frodos journey with the fellowship to destroy the ring of power. I can show you it during lunch, I'm sure the series is in the library" I told him.
"I do not understand how someone real can be in a story" he said still confused.
"The thing is, in my world all these things are forms of fiction, they are just stories, but for some reason they are real here" I explain to him.
"How is that possible?" He asked
"I have no idea. That's what I've been since last year" I told him. "You know they made movies from the books too, if you want to come over this weekend, I own all of the movies, I could show you them if you want too" I suggested.
"Sure that sounds like fun" he said with a smile.
The two of us got our armour and swords and walked over to a free section of the arena. He taught me mostly foot moving and defense for today. It wasn't that hard to understand though. It was mostly luck and skill though, and I wasn't generally a lucky person.
