False smiles
Cracking under the pressure
Of trying to maintain
The façade that everything
Is just fine
When inside it feels
Like everything is melting
Foaming with acid
Slowly dying
Unfocused eyes
Blink beneath the fluorescent lights
Craving the solitude of
A darkened room
Engulfed in silence
Until the remaining shred of control
Finally disintegrates
Leaving behind chest racking sobs
Eyes burning from the salty tears
Spilling over the brim
Tracing rapid trails
Down flushed cheeks
Vanishing into the darkness
As hope fades away
