On the fringes of my twilight
I took my last breath
Laying on the floor at his feet
He stood over me, grinning sadistically
I closed my eyes, refusing to let him see me cry
Holding my breath waiting for the final strike
He laughed and I braced myself for the end
I never knew what a mistake closing my eyes would make
He got what he wanted and I never saw it coming
Darkness surrounded me
Slowly drowning me
Daring me to stop breathing
My heart he broke
My soul he shattered
All the while he held onto his smile
On the fringes of my twilight
I took my last breath
Laying on the floor at his feet
The evil in his smile
The will in his hands
All that I am or was remains
Beating in his open palms
Bloody and battered
Sits my heart as dead as all that remains of me
