"Asher, hija, gising," yugyog ni yaya Luring.

"What time is it yaya?" inaantok pang tanong ni Asher.

"Alas siyete nang umaga," sagot nito.

"What?!?" sabay balikwas niya ng bangon. "Yaya! Bakit hindi mo ako ginising agad? Patay! Naku, what shall I do?" di mapakaling pabalik-balik niya sa paglalakad.

"Ano bang problema? Sabado naman ngayon, walang pasok. Bakit hindi ka mapakali dyan?"

"Yaya, we're supposed to go to Tagaytay to watch the sunrise. Anong oras na? Sikat na sikat na ang araw. Our first out-of-town date and I was late! Oh my God, what shall I do?" todo ang worry niya. She immediately checked her phone. Walang tawag at walang text.

Patay! How could she face Gerald?

"Eh yaya si Gerald po, pumunta dito?"

"Andun sa ibaba. Nagbabasa na nang diyaryo."

"Anong hitsura? Tuwid pa ba mga kilay niya?" naninigurado siya.

"Kumukunot paminsan-minsan. Siguro dahil sa binabasa."

Pwede pa. She better fix herself fast. "Yaya, baba ka naman please and tell Gerald I'll be down in fifteen minutes. Please, yaya?"

Tumalima naman ang matanda. "Wag ka nang mag-panic diyan at baka kung ano pa mangyari sa 'yo. May pagka-clumsy ka pa man ding bata ka."

She had a quick shower. She'd put on her best morning dress, put baby powder on her face and neck and sprayed her current favorite perfume, Estee Lauder's Beautiful. She had to be at her best, panlaban niya in case galit si Gerald.

May ilang minuto pa siya mula sa itinakdang oras. She calmed herself down, thinking of something to say, pang-depensa sa magiging attack ng lalake. She's sure magiging issue na naman sa kanila ito.
