It was quiet as the group of nine sat around the kitchen table. Not necessarily an awkward quiet, though the sheer duration of the silence made Sang shift awkwardly in her seat. She still wasn't Little and she could tell that it bothered the boys slightly; a shocking revelation for her.
Glancing to her left she risked a glance up to the glaring form of North, a scowl settled on his features as they waited for Owen to finish whatever call he'd gone off to have. She quickly glanced away, his face hardly inviting conversation.
Instead turning towards her right, she smiled a small smile as Dr Sean beamed widely at her, his glistening eyes and flirty glances forcing a blush to once again grace her features. He definitely didn't find the silence awkward. Sang doubted he found anything awkward. Though, she pondered, once you'd done several prostate exams on your closest friends, you'd find very few things awkward.
"Okay." Owen started as he walked into the room, glancing around at everyone as they sat quietly for, probably, the first time in their lives. "Having fun in here, I see."
Sang smiled sweetly at him and he visibly melted at the sight. He was just as enamoured with Big Sang as he was Little Sang.
"I just got off the phone with Doctor Roberts and he has an assignment for us, though it shouldn't take too long."
"Uhm, Mr B?" Gabe interrupted incredulously, very discreetly flashing his eyes towards Sang and back again to convey a very secret message.
Owen held himself back from rolling his eyes, further exasperated when he saw several of his other brothers sharing similar looks of concern. Not taking his eyes off Gabe's worried form he stated, "Clown."
"Honey!"
"Yes, Dear?" Nathan replied to Sang's random code, smirking as she blushed heavily.
"Flirting are we, Nathan?" Victor murmured from his side, appreciating the beautiful rouge that still painted Sang's cheeks.
Nathan glared at him, shaking his head as though to shake off his own thoughts. He loved Scarlett!
"You're academy?" North questioned, his brows furrowed in confusion.
"Is that a problem, North?"
The pointed tone to her voice startled North, not used to hearing her speak so harshly. It was kinda a turn on. "Uh- no. No, it's not."
"You have a team, then?" Kota questioned. Would Sang leave her team to be with Owen in a couples team? Owen assured them that he wouldn't leave, but surely he wouldn't be asking them to merge the two teams?
"Uhm, no, actually." Sang looked down shyly. "I'm a lone bird."
"Wow, cupcake!" Luke cheered, beaming brightly at her. "You must be a genius!"
"Surely that can't be safe." North grumbled, though he was mostly ignored.
Kota nodded, looking at the girl with new eyes. He knew how difficult it was for Nathan's girlfriend to even make the academy in a team, birds being less sought after. So, to make the academy and be a lone bird at such a young age was very impressive. She must have some type of skill set that made her very valuable and capable of working alone. How interesting. If she were to join the team, they really would be the best in the academy. Trust Owen to find her.
"I guess no one wanted me." Sang mumbled, trying to joke but feeling disheartened at her own words.
An uproar of protests left the mouths of Owen's entire team, and a small, almost smug smile appeared on his face at the obvious attraction the boys all had towards his Little Sang.
