The next week went by uneventfully. Each morning, I would see Nick leaving for work and we would talk for a minute before going our separate directions. I put the last curl into my hair, as I smiled at my reflection. I went into my closet and looked for a dress to wear. I took down a deep burgundy dress that was incredibly form fitting, and had a slouch neckline. Seth insisted that I get this dress.

I pulled the dress on and zipped it up the back

I pulled the dress on and zipped it up the back. I Chose a pair of black pointed toe stilettos, to go with it, and a simple silver bracelet. I walked out to the kitchen and collected the bags I needed for work. Today was the last lesson for this class and it was going to be a long one. I walked out the front door, and set the alarm. As I turned to walk to my car I saw Nick leaning against the drivers side door. As normal, he was in a suit with his shirt collar slightly open.

I smiled as I saw him

I smiled as I saw him. "Hello, Detective Rhodes." I said in a flirty tone.

"Hi, Hospital Educator Adams." He said with a chuckle as he eyed the details of my dress.

"That doesn't quite have the same ring to it, does it?" I said as I passed him.

He just smiled at me as I put my bags in the back seat. "What are you doing tomorrow?" He asked.

"Laundry, dusting, mopping...." I said listing off a bunch of random things I had no intention of actually doing.

"Lets go to the beach." He said interrupting my fake rant.

"YES!" I said letting my head fall back.

"Is Seth off tomorrow?"

"No, he has to work." I said looking back at him.

"It will be just us then." He said with a smile that looked like he was very happy about that.

"What time should I be ready?" I asked, taking a step closer to him.

"Is 8 too early?"

"Perfect."

"I'll see you in the morning, Rylie." He said walking back to his car.

I watched him walk for just a second, before getting into my car and heading to work.

As the day went on, I found myself thinking about Nick more and more. I was giving a test today, to finalize the class. Most of the day I spent at my desk, as I worked on the next class in two weeks. When it was finally time to head home, I was exhausted. I went through the Starbucks drive through before making it home.
