My momma woke us up screaming, at 6:30 and even though I would never admit it, I really missed it.
Lyla showered first since she always takes the longest to get ready and then we all followed getting ready. I put on a white crop top with light wash ripped skinny jeans.
"Forces or vans" I asked Mirah
"Vans, your forces are kinda dirty" she said leaving my room
I went downstairs and my mom made them white people breakfast in the movies.
"Sit down Zyra" she said
"Momma we gotta go, school starts in twenty minutes" I told her
"Okay grab a piece of toast and say 'I love you mommm see you later" she said in the lil white girl voice making us all laugh
"Okay I'll eat" I huffed sitting down
"Come on come on I need pictures" my mommy said when we got done eating
"We're never gonna leave" Lyla groaned
We ended up leaving at 8 and school starts at 8:10 so I knew we were all gonna be late. Amirah was sleeping in the backseat, Asani was taking selfies and Lyla was on the aux. Me, I was going 65 in a 40 zone.
"Go faster!" Asani screamed
"I love when you drive this fast Zy" Lyla said laughing, "So relaxing"
We made it to school in 10 minutes when it's usually a 20 minute drive, but we're not gonna talk about that😗
"The police should've caught us, I hate this stupid school" Amirah said walking in
"Y'all are supposed to be in the gym!" Mr. Saunders, the security guard told us
"That's where we're going now sir" Amirah said smiling
"Okay hurry it up" he said
"Lightskin privilege" Asani said making us laugh.
We got in the gym and I wasn't feeling it at all. Maybe I should fall out, then I'll spend the day in the nurse office. No, my momma would beat me.
I followed the girls up the bleachers until we found a seat. Some people told us hi as we walked and we didn't even know who they were.
You see, we were kinda popular. Asani was the cheer captain, Lyla was the dance captain and Amirah was the smartest in our grade. Me, I just smiled and looked pretty.
