"For f**ks sake." Tom screamed, frustrated. "Why aren't we using our powers again?" He gritted out, still trying to hit the target's bullseye with a throwing knife. Yes, Tom, elemental master of fire, (well soon-to-be, I have faith.) using a throwing knife.

Apparently, the guardians thought it would be good to improve our fighting skills, before training us on elemental magic. Now we have to learn sword fighting, knife throwing, using of spears, archery, and battling with our fist.

We were in a cleared out space, in the middle of the woods

"Cheer up, Tom. At least you didn't miss the target entirely, this time." Jacky said, biting back a smile.

Tom had been missing targets by a long shot. None of them even scratching the target. Well not until now, this one actually touched the target.

"Warriors, you need to learn not to be reliant on your powers. It can sometimes fail you. Weapon mastery is an enviable skill." Blaze said.

"You guys don't have guns here and that's a downside." I said examining my sword.

I still haven't found one with the right blade yet. I needed the perfect sword for me, not too light and not too heavy either, and one I could also balance.

"Guns are more efficient in...over powering people. We aren't going to kill Demonya, right?" I asked looking up from the sword.

The guardians were silent.

I never thought about how we were going to stop her until now. I didn't want blood on my hands, no matter how evil she might seem or how I'll be doing the world a whole lot of good by killing her.

"Be rest assured, that it will not come to that."  Storm said. "Progress rapidly this week and you will be learning more about magic and casting simple spells. It will be possible but extremely difficult to trap her in an object."

Like she did to the elders.

"She possesses dark and powerful magic." Clay said. "Some might even call her a sorcerers, so freeing Light won't be easy."

"The more you tell us about Demonya, the more I think we have little or no chance at beating her." Jacky said, grabbing a crossbow from the arsenal stack.

"Yeah, she could destroy our predecessors who were much more experienced in these things." Jenny added while checking out the battle axes and maces with Isabel and George.

"Your predecessors were not aware of how evil she is and were taken by surprise. You all will be wiser and learn from their mistake." Aqua explained.

"Anyways, how are we supposed to fight with this," George gestured to a long stick with a fancy top.

"It is a scepter. It is used to conjure magical attacks. You will not need it for this part of your training." Crystal replied and George nodded.

We all went back to what we were doing and Isabel was finding it a little difficult holding the mace. It was too heavy for her. George was trying out the spears, Jenny was trying the throwing knives along with Tom and Jacky was tinkering with a crossbow.

"I think I'm getting a hang of this thing– watch out Harley." Jacky screamed, wide eyed.

I was rooted to the spot in shock, a crossbow arrow was heading straight for my head. I closed my eyes, waiting and bracing myself for the undeniably painful impact, but- it never came.

I slowly peeled one eye open only to be met with a wall. I breathed out in relief. I went around it ready to drown Jacky, only to be met with the arrow, in half and still in the air.

My friends all had similar stances.

"Seems like we all didn't want you to die on us." Isabel said and I furrowed my brows.

They then proceeded to tell me what happened and I couldn't believe it. Where were the guardians when all this happened?

Not here that's where.

Jacky had put up a wall, George stopped the arrow mid air, Isabel had frozen it solid and Tom had reversed the effect in an attempt to burn it and Jenny hit her target(the arrow) with her throwing knife, cutting it in half.

Yup, and they all did this at the same time. I felt so loved.

"You guys are cool, you know that?" I said, almost tearing up a little. Almost. "Thanks so much."

"Your welcome and sorry for the arrow." Jacky said sheepishly.

"Not exactly how I foresaw you taking your revenge on me." I said, smugly.

Jacky groaned. "And I really wanted to make a miniature earthquake or a rock slide." He pouted and we all laughed.

He is so cute!
