Chapter Nine

I couldn't sleep! I kept on rolling in my bed while replaying in my mind, what happened a few hours ago. Talking to spirits and getting powers all seemed weird to me. Then the talk of being chosen for our world. Does that mean there are other worlds we don't know about?

Seeing as I wasn't about to sleep any time soon I decided to get ready for the day, I couldn't even eat so didn't order for something. I kept on thinking and I was glad that if I were going crazy that I wasn't going crazy alone, I had my best friends with me along with two strangers.

What's so special about us? We could be at home right now on a fishing trip, well maybe not Isabel. What are the odds? We so happened to win a prize of a ticket for a cruise to escape the boredom our town would no doubt have killed us with, and now we've been chosen by spirits to wield the powers of the elements.

"HARLS!" Jenny called out from behind my room door. "Are you awake in there?" I sighed and checked my phone for the time. It was twenty minutes after ten and I was just leaving the bathroom.

"Yeah," I called back, tying my hair with a red piece of cloth."are you guys ready?" I asked her, I doubted it though. I moved to open the door.

"I don't know," she replied and looked at me when the door opened. "Just checking if you are." She was jumpy.

"I am, now let's go get the rest." I told her heading straight for Isabel's door. The ship had stop by the dock of the island almost half an hour ago.

"I told Lauren not to worry about us today." Jenny told me.

"Yeah, it's probably best she doesn't. Not when we have spirits talking to us." I agreed.

"Are we going get Tom and Jacky?" She asked with bounce in her steps.

"No. We'll wait for them to come to us." I told her while knocking on the door. Isabel opened it after some time.

"Well this is a surprise." She said smiling. "Didn't expect to see Harley up this early." I rolled my eyes.

"Come on, lets go get George." Jenny was almost flying with excitement.

"Wait let me get a cap to go with my outfit." Isabel said shutting the door. She returned a minute later with a black face cap.

We were now Knocking on George's door. "Wait a minute" we heard him say from inside. He opened the door after a while.

"Whoa, Harley!" George said looked genuinely surprised. "Am I sure the world isn't coming to an end." He mused. "She's usually the last person we come get cause she loves her sleep so much, maybe even more than us." He muttered the last part closing his door.

"Oh, shut up George and let's go island exploring but more preferably the carnival." Jenny said skipping backwards, ahead of us. This girl was hyper.

"Jenny look out for..." Jenny came crashing down with someone before Isabel could finish warning her. It was Tom.

"Ouch," Jenny said rubbing her behind."Sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you." She apologized.

"Don't worry about it," Tom chuckled getting up and helping Jenny up too. "well you're excited." He said smiling. I didn't know he could smile.

I'm sure Jenny, Isabel, George, and I mirrored the same expression of confused-shock, while Jacky just watched us amused.

"Someone's in a good mood." Isabel acknowledged raising an eyebrow.

"Ouch" Tom said feigning hurt "aren't I always guys?"

"Do you really need to the answer to that" George said rolling his eyes and I just nodded.
