"Whoa!" I exclaimed." A lot of teenagers are at the Frozendelite today."
"Whoa's right Harls. Eight people have gotten the free cruise ship ticket prizes already and there are only two left." George said.
Just then someone screamed. "I GOT ONE! I GOT ONE!!" And everyone in the shop groaned in frustration. Us too.
"Scratch that. Only one's left." Jenny said heading for the long line to get to the counter.
For the past three days I and my friends have been coming to the Frozendelite shop to try our luck and get a ticket. We usually ate through twenty packs of different flavoured frozen yoghurts each day like every other teenager who really wanted a ticket.
The ticket would grant you and any other four (a guardian included) to go on a cruise. This was not just any cruise. It was a teenage cruise and in a town like ours where nothing fun usually happened it was like a drizzle of rain in an unforgiving desert. Okay that was a little extra but you know what I mean.
We stood in line for about thirty minutes and finally placed our order of two of each type of ten frozen yoghurts flavors. It was hard finding a free table but we found one.
We ate through twelve mini tubs and soon started losing hope. I mean how hard is it to get a cruise ticket from your favorite frozen yoghurt shop.
"Come on! We've eaten through the strawberry, the blueberry, the vanilla and the mango." Isabel whined.
"And the mango and the sweetened yoghurt." Jenny added.
"Guys we can do this. Just eight more flavors to go." I said reaching for the chocolate flavored yoghurts and peeling off the lid.
George just shrugged and nodded.
I was halfway through the last tub of yoghurt when I felt something with my plastic spoon. I tossed my spoon on the table and did the messy job with my fingers. George seemed to notice and tapped Jenny and Isabel who weren't paying attention.
I finally pulled out something golden from the mini tub and next thing I knew I heard screams. Wait I was screaming and Jenny, George and Isabel were screaming too. I had pulled out a ticket.
Some people were groaning unhappily. I didn't care. I just ran out of the shop with my friends right behind me and we started basking in the glory of the golden ticket.
"Somebody, anybody pinch me." Jenny said squealing and jumping around.
"Okay." George said actually pinching Jenny on the arm.
"Ouch!" Jenny said glaring at George. "You know you're annoying, right?"
Everyone just laughed except Jenny who was somewhat annoyed. I still couldn't believe that we had the last cruise ticket. I mean what were the chances?
"Come on let's head over to your place Harls." Isabel said getting into the car. "We could play Call Of Duty to celebrate when we get there."
"Since when do we play COD to celebrate?" Jenny asked when we were all buckled in.
"Well we usually don't play it anymore." Isabel said grinning.
"Yeah, because you wouldn't stop cheating." George accused narrowing his eyes at her from the backseat.
Isabel adjusted the mirrors to look at George and smirked. "I don't cheat. You just don't play well." With that she adjusted the mirror once more and started driving.
I heard George mutter some incoherent words and Jenny giggle. I just shrugged.
"Alright now unto more pressing matters." I said pausing.
"Who's going to be the legal adult on our summer vacation?"
And I could immediately feel the tension in the car.
