Chapter 22: The Calculation

[Diana's POV]

I sighed happily on my bed while staring at the ceiling. I'm so full damn it but nonetheless, I'm happy that I get to eat spaghetti today! Delicious as hell!

Time fly so fast it feels that a year feels like yesterday just happened to me, if you know what I mean. Looking at Aunt Serene and Dad happy reminds me of my parents. I miss them. So so much. I also missed my younger brother too. He was about to delivered soon but… Hmmm. Mum told me once that she wants me to name my younger brother. What about….

Daniel Lee Grace? Or Daniel Evan Grace?? Perfect. Never thought of that! I count Daniel's age if he's still alive now.

He’s only a year old when I’m 9. Which means he’s suppose to be 9 years old by now! And damn since when I'm so good in my calculation?? Hahah!

Yeah, whatever. But one thing for sure, I always wonder what Daniel would look. I smiled and shook my head, sigh. Unfortunately I don't even know how he would look like. Does he have mesmerizing eyes like mum? Or have a nice, straight hair like dad? Or he just look alike like me? Sigh. I just recall back what I did just now during dinner. 

So basically, dad and Serene was having a lovely sweet time during dinner just now. They were laughing and feeding each other. When I looked at Ana, I realized she was looking at me too while eyeing her parents which makes both of us stifled our laughed. Thankfully we didn't do it too obvious and manage to hold our laughter. I mean, come on, you guys should do it privately without any teenagers looking at you, maybe in the bedroom or something? If you know what I mean, heh.

But as soon as both of them stared at each others lip, I knew I was gotta throw up already so I clear my throat, getting their attention. 

"Go find a room please, it's inappropriate." I said it innocently making Ana laughed so hard. Woah, what a big laugh she got. When I said she laughed so hard, I really meant the belly aching kind of laughter that she herself actually need to hold her stomach. Dad squinted his eyes on both of us, letting go of Aunt Serene while she was reddening from embarrassment. Ana knew that she needs to stop her laugh so she twirled the spaghetti & stuffed it in her mouth while saying sorry.

"Sho shorry ish jush sho funwey when Diana shaid jhat," she got a mouthful of spaghetti inside her mouth making her cheek go all puffy like chipmunk, which was hilariously cute even though the couples don't get the shit what she's talking about.

"Oh come on you girls.. I was just teasing my wife-" I gagged while Ana chocked on the spaghetti the moment we heard dad said like that.

"What the hell dad ! Oh my God this is so embarrassing!" Ana whined while covering her face with her hands.

"What so embarrassing? We're husband and wife after all!" he said in the matter of fact. Ana and I rolled our eyes and continued eating. After that, silence overtaking us before aunt Serene broke the silence.

"Wow.." she started "..In the blink of an eye, I realized its been 19 years we've been together. We have Ana after 3 months we settled down. Then, we have Diana joining our family. Now look, they are all grown up teenagers.." she smiled at us. "I never thought I'm even 39 now."

"Naa don't worry, you're not too old to make babies you know.." Dad smirked and chuckled make Ana and I groaned louder this time making dad chuckled. I heard Serene muttered under her breath like 'dirty minded' before she twirled her spaghetti and eat it.

Both Aunt Serene and Dad is 39 years old now while Ana & I have the same age too. 18 years old. But…. Why is our age is the same? Suddenly I don’t feel good about it. All of our age is the same. Or is it just me? There must be some careless mistakes here hmmm. I decided to take a piece of paper and pencil and wrote it down. Something’s just not right with the calculation here…

I remembered asking dad when my parents married yesterday when we watch some random shows on television.

-Flashback-

"What year did mum and dad married?" I asked dad randomly.

"Oh.. That.." he straightened his body on the sofa but his eyes still focused on the TV screen, "In the year 1995.. Hellen was 19 and Jeremy was 20 that time.." he gave me further details.

"What about you? When you and aunt Serene settled down?" 

"A year after that..."

-End of flashback-

So I start to scribble down on the piece of paper.

The year my parents married = 1995
Dad & Aunt Serene married = 1996 (A year after my parents settled down)

At the same time, Aunt Serene just told everyone over dinner that she also got herself pregnant with Ana 3 months after she got married, which is still in 1996.

If I was born in 1995 and I am 18 years old,
Ana's age is supposed to be 17 since she’s born in 1996.

Wait a minute. Hold up. Something’s not right here.

I tried calculating again because I might be the one having some careless mistake. I even use calculator to calculate but somehow I got the same answer. She shouldn’t be 18 years old like me when she’s born in 1996! She’s 17 years old!

But the question is; if Ana was born the same year as me, does this means that Aunt Serene was pregnant with Ana even before getting married? Holy hell!

I hold my head in confusion, wondering if this is just a dream or what. They have Ana even before getting married?

Something’s fishy going on. Ana's parent is hiding something from her.

WOAAAHHH RIGHT THERE! What is going on here?? Did Diana just explore something new, or should I say weird?? Or all her calculations are wrong? Hmmmm gotta hold on to the story though, will update it soon! This chapter is not that long but I Hope you guys like this! But if you don’t….. Well thank you for reading too and you might wanna comment on what to improve etc.
