A Red Cap

Notes: I know Hodge being part dark elf come out of nowhere but this is only the first draft so in the rewrite it won't suddenly be mentioned like that, but of course an elf being an assassin he would need quite a bit of darkness in his soul right

Notes: I know Hodge being part dark elf come out of nowhere but this is only the first draft so in the rewrite it won't suddenly be mentioned like that, but of course an elf being an assassin he would need quite a bit of darkness in his soul right. PS if you you have any con/crit  let me know. Like I said this is only the first draft and this time I working on finishing a first draft before going back and restarting a story over and over.

Banevally stood at the foot of the Dragon Mountains; Banevally winding streets were like directionless serpents, winding through the town like a labyrinth. Hodge took Ragamuffin's hand not wanting to lose the faerie these streets weren't the safest, he knew despite his husbands petite size the faerie could look after himself but he was still protective of him.

"Be careful some of the residents here aren't the nicest," Hodge whispered to their group as he saw a couple of Red Caps pushing through the crowd. He kept an eye on them, Red Caps were evil faeries, centuries ago their DNA were corrupted by a group of faeries using forbidden magic from the void and now they were ugly creatures that hardly looked like faeries at all, with skin like walnuts and often with deformed features. They all wore little red hats like the group of faeries that started using the magic to begin with; they have become violent creatures and were cannibalistic towards other races of faeries. He pulled Ragamuffin close to him as he watched them.

"What are those things?" Lloyd whispered.

"Red Caps, corrupted faeries and they are not to be trusted," Hodge whispered back.

Lloyd nodded at this looking at the creepy looking beings and the knight found it hard to believe that they were faeries, they looked more like goblins and as the group walked by them he heard one of them whisper about fresh meat as they reached out to try and grab Ragamuffin.

"Just try it you little shits," Hodge growled grabbing one round the throat and holding it up against the wall. The elf's violet eyes stormy with anger as and as the Red Cap tried bite him he quickly removed his dagger and stabbed the corrupted faerie in the belly. This was the dark elf in Hodge taking over.

Lloyd watched in horror as Hodge throw the Red Cap to the floor like a rag doll before putting a knee on the screaming Red Caps back.

"Don't touch what is mine," He growled, and the happy go lucky elf was replaced with something else, something terrifying, fierce and beautiful all at the same time.

"You're killing me, stop," The Red Cap squealed it's legs kicking though with its belly bleeding it really was becoming too weak to fight back. Hodge looked up at the other Red Cap that Morag was holding up like a rag as he cut the throat of the one on the ground.

"You can tell the rest of you disgusting clan that if they come anywhere near my faerie I won't think twice about killing them, got it you little shit," Hodge sneered. The Red Cap nodded quickly.

"We didn't know he was with a dark elf, we won't touch your friend okay," The Red Cap said quickly.

"He's my husband and unless you want me to gut you won't lay your grubby hands on him again," Hodge snarled nodding to Morag to let The Red Cap going and watched as the corrupted faerie ran terrified into the crowd as he licked the blood of the blade, before his eyes want back to normal.

He looked at Prince Constantine and smirked slightly because the prince looked like he wanted to vomit.

"That's the dark elf side of me, be careful you aren't the one to bring it out," Hodge whispered in the princes ear menacingly. The prince quickly nodded knowing at that moment Hodge could and would kill him if he was pushed too far.
