Birdy's Dragon Form
Carella walked through the tunnels and cave systems that were in the Dragon Mountains. The mountains were her palace and the caves were where her subjects lived. Each cave exquisitely decorated with jewels and gems that dragons loved to collect, each cave lit up by Carella's magic that cut through the darkness with a golden light, that made each dark, damp cave tunnel into warm and welcoming rooms.
"Are they going to find it? Do you think they even can?" A young boy said excitedly running up to the golden dragon. His dark eyes wide as he looked up at the Empress. The Empress smiled down at the child.
"Hopefully they will be able to complete the quest, but you must not tell the real reason why we want it found understand Birdy?" Carella said reaching down to ruffle the boys red hair.
"I understand," Birdy sighed not really understanding what the great secret was. Carella wanted to find a way to be able to see her one true love, the grand grimoire was rumoured to hold a spell for that, Birdy knew though that if anything could help the Empress it would be in the grand grimoire and if it couldn't hopefully it had a way to protect their lands from humans. After all Birdy got his nickname of Birdy because his dragon form was so small, like the size of an eagle, if humans attacked him he would easily be killed that's why most of his kind liked him to stay deep in the cave systems and away from any danger.
Of course this led to Birdy getting bored as other young dragons went down to the town he would wonder the tunnels eves dropping on conversations he shouldn't be listening too. This was how he found out the real reason why The Empresses wanted The Grand Grimoire.
"One day I want to go on a quest and have grand adventures," Birdy grinned following Carella into an inner chamber his smile wide as The Empress sat and the young dragon boy ran to sit on her lap, half way turning into a small dragon with orange scales.
"When you grow bigger you can," Carella smiled stroking the small dragons back, she didn't have the heart to tell the dragon child he may never grow very big, and certainly not big enough to go on quests and adventures. He was still so young, and she didn't want to explain to him that that damn human mage had put a curse on him to make him stay tiny forever giving him the body and mind of a child forever.
She believed the mages name was Markus and if she ever found him he would feel the full wrath of the golden dragon, she would burn him to ash for putting such a curse on a baby that was just days out of his egg.
