Unknown P.O.V
I sit at the table, with my legs swinging high above the ground. I stare at the two adults sitting in front of me, and they stare at each other, and back at me, repeatedly.
''What's your name?" They ask. I don't answer.
''Do you want to talk to us?'' The man asks. I don't answer.
They pause, and a silence echoes throughout the small room. I fidget with my toy wolf, and just keep looking at the ground.
''Where did you get that? It's a nice wolf.'' The lady speaks again.
''Is it your favorite animal?'' The man asks. No response.
They both sigh, before getting up and walking out of the room. I'm left alone in there, and I watch through the glass, as they talk back and forth with the woman in charge, and they keep looking at me, as they talk.
After five minute, the couple leaves, and the woman walk back into the room where I'm in.
''Se Jun-ah-'' She says my name gently, as she squats down to my level. This was your 10th meeting, and you failed it. The orphanage was really hoping that you would pass this, and possibly get adopted. Even fostered. You're turning 7 in a couple months and you need to go.'' She explains.
Not wanting to be disrespectful to her, I nod, indicating that I understand.
''Come on, back to your room. We have more people looking at your file to see if they want to have a meeting with you. I hope you do better in your next one.'' She tells me as we walk down the hallway, and back to my room.
My room is number 24. It's a small purple door, like every other bedroom doors of the other girls in the orphanage. My name is in big white letters on the front. Inside, the walls are white and since I like wolves, when they were remodeling all the rooms, I had requested that there were wolves on the walls.
I have a small kid size bed in the far left corner, and a table next to it. the bed is filled with stuffed animals and pillows. There's a table next to the bed, and a dresser across the room. I walk in and watch as she closes the door behind me, leaving me in the room alone. I walk over, and sit on the bed. I dig under my pillow, and pull out this picture I have from my dad before he died.
''You can't do that!'' I hear outside of my door.
I run up and slightly open the door, to find out what's going on.
''Yes, any children who has had 8-10 or more failed meetings, needs to go. It doesn't matter where. They will be bouncing around form home to home and orphanage to orphanage until they are adopted, or they turn 18 and are on their own.'' This tall woman, with black hair and arched eyebrow, says sternly to the secretary who managed to orphanage.
''That's wrong. passing them around from place to place isn't good for these kids. The stress an anxiety most of them already suffer will get worse. Why can't we just keep them here?''
''Because, we're running out of rooms. And we can't keep room occupied when the guest has over stayed their visits willingly.'' The lady responds.
I gently close the door, and go back on the bed.
''I've had 10 plus failed meetings. Yes, there are multiple chances I got at getting attempted, but didn't take them, because the very first time a couple came in to adopt me, once they reviewed my file, they saw how my parents died and shredded their papers to adopt me.
I knew from then and there, if every time they come in, play nice, give me hope that they're going to adopt me, and when they read my file, they just change their minds because of something I had no control over. I might as well avoid all the niceness, and stay here.
I just hope that the person in this photo, I can find them and maybe have one shred of family still left. But finding him ins't going to be easy, as long as I'm stuck in here. Who knows if he's even still alive, let alone would even care about me.
I guess I just have to find out. The question is, how?
