Chapter 11

Hayley's POV

I've just gone out of the airport to find a taxi that can drive me to my dorm, but all of these are busy and the next free arrives in 15 minutes, so I decide to come back inside to wait. While walking back, I see a familiar face in the crowd, a tall guy is searching for someone. Then he turns facing me and I find my beloved smiling. I let fall on the ground my bags and suitcases to run to hug him. Soon I feel warmth all over my body, his usual good scent, my head near his neck, his breath against my ear. It seems like time never flows, it's eternal, I could be in his arms like this forever, it's my favourite place ever. Suddenly he embraces me stronger and I melt under his touch, I'm all yours my sunshine. After about two minutes we leave and smile, then I give him another quick hug and we reach the place where I left my luggages.

"Do you know this is the best surprise anyone can make me, do you?" I tell him very delighted, feeling every cell in confusion like millions and millions of lightnings are running through my veins

"This was my aim when I jumped in my car to get here." He says laughing with his lovely laughter being adorable as usual

"So that's why you asked me what time I'd arrive the other day?" I ask him remembering that chat

"I can see your brain works very well, Hay!" He chuckles

"You stupid bloke!" I punch his right arm and shake my head

We place the suitcases and the guitar in his car and then ride to my place. During the run I tell him what I've done in these two weeks of frustration for not seeing him. Of course I keep to myself this last comment, only God and my best friend Joanne know how bad I was when I wasn't talking or chatting with him. Skype was the only mean to see that handsome face I love with all my heart. Distance is so hard to cope when you're in love, I don't want to imagine the moment when the band will tour and I know it's pretty near. But now he's with me and this's a problem I'll manage with later.

I bring my copy of the keys and open the door of my room. Oh it smells like hell! I guess nobody's entered since they cleaned when we left, so I open all the windows and let some air get in. Jonny helps me to place my things, clothes, accessories, books, and then we sit on my bed. Suddenly he hugs me with his strong arms again and looks at me straight in my eyes, the only thing that is dividing our faces is the brief space of few inches. But something doesn't allow us to kiss our mouths, I don't know what it is, that thing doesn't make me feel his lips on mine. The only thing I know is that I want to devour and kiss him until I'm breathless like I had run for 1000 miles very fast.

"Do you want to have lunch? You seem hungry..." He breaks the silence after that episode

"Ehm, yeah! Where do we go?" Oh yeah Jonny I'm so hungry but not of food

"Why don't we go to that restaurant we went last time? It was brilliant!"

"Of course brilliant, but fucking expensive!" I utter making a funny grimace

"Hey don't worry, it's on me!" Jonny says kindly and politely as always

"I don't want you to pay so much for a meal. We can go to that bistrot we like near the cinema."

"Yeah but... We have to celebrate your return, so let's go to the first one. I can afford it, y'know." He talks in that way you can't say no, so I accept and get there.

In the restaurant there are other couples, engaged or married people, but we're only two best friends here, I hope we'll be like these soon, I need him as a lover in my life like the air I breathe. I love him and I'd give everything to kiss his mouth right now, I'm mad about him, I can't hide it. I saw something in his eyes when we were staring at each other... Maybe my friends are right, he feels something for me, I don't want to believe only because I don't want illusions, but I wish they were right! This afternoon we're going to spend time together and I'm going to explain him my feelings, I haven't a different option to choose, if I keep these only for myself, I will never know what he feels. So I have to think how I will tell him, maybe I can ask him something about love... Ah, I really don't know, I'm so shy when it comes to open my heart to people! I'm a lost cause.
