It's been 3 years since we lost Philip. We've gotten back to normal. Alex and I have had a quieter life even though it's not something he likes. But he knows that that's what I want and with everything he's done, he lets me make the decision.
We spend every weekend with the Schuyler sisters and their children. Whilst they all play together in the park, Angelica, Eliza and I just talk about anything and everything.
"How Alex doing?" Eliza asks
"He's doing better. I've noticed a few letters coming into the house from his friend Aaron Burr" I reply picking a few flowers
"Are you sure Burr is his friend. I've been hearing around that he's still mad a Alex for endorsing Thomas Jefferson instead of him" Angelica says furrowing her eyebrows
"That's a bit childish don't you think" I giggle, "but knowing Alex, Aaron probably doesn't like him" I say realising what Angelica is saying may be true
Nothing seems to be happing so I'll just let the men sort it out.

"Alexander? What are you doing up?" I ask sluggishly
He turns in his chair slightly to face me. I put my hands on his shoulder and he placed one over mine.
"I just need to write something down" he says covering the paper
"Come back to sleep" I say
"I have a meeting out of town in the morning, I have to leave soon" he smiles
"Okay, I'm going back to sleep" I say taking my hands away
"I'll be back before you wake up"
I smile as I walk away, "hey, (y/n). You're the best of wives and best of women"
I leave his office and head back to bed. Stay safe Alex. I'll have some food waiting when you get home.
