***************************************BEEP BEEP BEEP
Next morning I wake up at the sound of my alarm. Quickly my hand reaches to grab my phone and turn it off as my eyes are still fighting to open.
I barely got any sleep this night. What happened at the club yesterday scared the life out of me.
I was almost kidnapped.
Trying to stretch I feel sharp pain overflowing my ribs and left hip. Oh, all that running through the streets and stairs didn't do any good to my injuries.
As I finally manage to fully open my eyes I grab the painkillers's bottle with intention of swallowing one. Then I remember I ran out of them yesterday.
Fuck. I'll have to go to the pharmacy.
Thankfully one of my oldest friends' father is a doctor, so he can provide me a prescription for those painkillers without reporting to police about my bruises. It's all gonna be over soon, I'll save a little more money and buy myself my own apartment, I'll leave this damn life behind me.
In a middle of my thoughts, my doors are broke open and the figure of my furious uncle steps in. "Carmilla." He gritts his teeth at me.
"Y-yes uncle Marcus?" I immediately stand up. Just don't hit me, not today. I can barely stand normally without my medications.
"Where is the fucking money?!" He growls, stepping closer to me.
"W-what money? I gave you more than a half of my salary last month." I try to explain.
Darkness covers his eyes before he growls again. "Where is the rest of it?!?"
"I spent it on food, we have to eat something." Not all of us can survive without actual food. Actual food - not burbon, vodka and freezed dinners.
"Don't you fucking lie to me! Where is it?!" He loses his mind again, but instead of coming towards me, he grabs my wallet from the night table and tears in open. His eyes widen with confussion as he takes out 10 pounds. "What is this shit? Where is the rest of it Carmilla!?"
Are you deaf?
"Uncle there is no more money. This is what has left after giving it to you and buying food this month." Yeah and I bought the cheapest vegetable and meat, which he ate almost right away.
"You think I'm a fool, huh?!" His hand lashes towards me, grabbing my jaw. I whimper in pain as he squezees it harsly. "The fridge is empty."
"T-that is b-because you took too much of it the previous month. I couldn't buy anymore food, 10 pounds it's all that's left." My voice stutters from fear. Don't punch me again, it's not my fault.
"There has to be more of it, you're lying!" He steps to my closet, starting to check every corner.
My heart beat increases, he is right - there is more money. Some days I work extra hours and get about 80 pounds more a month, I'm keeping it hidden and saving it to buy myself my own apartment. If he finds it. . . I don't know what I'm gonna do.
Next moment I accidentally gasp as he reaches into the underwear drawer. I hear him laughing lowly as he pulls out a white evenlope.
