I sat on a lawn chair watching the cow in front of me. She was about to go into labor. I was glad we made this new barn. It was huge and had huge stalls for each cow to give birth and stay in until winter was over. The bulls and steers had their own pen at the end of the stalls. Even Dasiy had her own. I went back to my homework that was on my lap. Before too long I heard a truck pull up. A few minutes later Tim walked in.

"Hey Tim."

"Hey Holly. Here's your work."

"Thanks Tim you have been a life saver through this all. I appreciate it."

"It's no problem. Everyone has been asking where you are." He said grabbing another lawn chair and sitting beside me.

"Did you tell em?"

"No I just said you have been really sick."

"Thanks. I'm just glad the school understands and won't hold me back."

"Well your one of the best rodeo people there are at the school. And if we win it puts them on the map. And they wouldn't want to lose that." I thought about that for a moment.

"That is very true." We talked for a little before he took my already done home work and left. The cow had a nice bull calf. No body else looked ready yet to have calf so I went in to the house to get something to eat. The house was dark once I got in. I flipped on lights as I went. I went and made me a can of soup and refilled my thermos with coffee. Then I went back out.

The next day the sun was shining a bit but it was still cold. I finished my homework and doctor the calf that was coming down with pneumonia. I never even heard the truck pull up until Hunter popped his head in.

"Holly? What are you doing out here? Your sick you should be in bed not out in the cold working." He said coming up to me. He grabbed my arm and tried to lead me out. I jerked my arm away from him.

"Hunter I'm not sick." He stayed silent for a moment.

"Then why has Tim and your gang  been telling everyone your sick?"
