"Kagome look at what Kaede gave me!" you twirled in the red and white robes. It was a replica of her outfit. You always told her how much you loved her clothing, and after much insisting she made one for you. Kagome was smiling at how taken you seemed by such simple clothing. She was out in the fields as usual, gathering herbs and spices. Inuyasha was off with Miroku, probably taking down demons. Life now was so laid back, compared to how it had been when Naraku was still alive. Sango walked over, both her daughters following as she nursed her youngest son in her arms.
"You look really beautiful (Y/N)." she complimented. You grinned.
"You really think so!"
Inuyasha and his friends saved your life a few years back. Since then you'd join them on their journey. When the fighting was over, you stuck around. They were basically family now, so there was no way you could leave. Honestly, you wished you'd contributed more to the fight. You weren't a descendant of a priestess like Kagome, or a skilled fighter like Sango. You were fairly normal. It irked you at times, because you hated feeling defenseless. You asked Inuyahsa relentlessly to train you, and you guessed he got tired of the pestering. When he wasn't eliminating demons, he spar with you, yet it still didn't feel like enough. You knew for a fact that he always went easy on you. All you really wanted was to feel special, like your friends were.
"I'm going to check on Rin. Her fever is still pretty high. I've been carrying all that I can. I think she just needs rest. " Kaede's words made you turn.
"I can do it Kaede-san!" the older woman looked back at you. "Are you sure?" you nodded happily. "Of course, leave it to me!" you were already shooting off in the direction of the house.
"She's as high spirited as ever." Kagaome said with a smile.
You were running, your clothing moving with your quick movement. When you got to the entrance, you slowed down. Watching the door that was slightly opened. "Hmmm?" you pushed it open the rest of the way calling out to Rin. When you stepped inside you froze. There was a man standing over her.
"Hey! What the hell are you doing!!" He turned slowly, and the markings on his face made you uneasy. He wasn't a regular person. There were two red stripes on either side of his cheek, and a moon at the center of his forehead. His golden orbs resembled Inuyasha's, silver hair and all. That's when it hit you. This had to be his brother. They told you a lot about him, but you'd never really met the Yokai. You couldn't say you ever wanted to. From what you heard, he wasn't that nice of a person. But he did help in the battle against Naraku, so at least he wasn't evil.
"Who are you?" His question made you take a step back. "I'm a friend of Inuyasha's, and you must be Sesshoumaru." His eyes narrowed at that.
"You should show the proper respect girl." you scoffed.
"What? Do you want me to call you Lord Sesshoumaru, fat chance of that happening." you mocked. It hadn't even been five minutes and already you didn't like him. Inuyasha was a hot head, but at least the guy was decent. His half brother was just downright rude. It took you awhile to notice the kimono he held in his hand. He placed it at the side of her bed. She turned in her sleep, eyes opening slightly. "S-Sesshomaru-sama.." she mumbled. He reached down, brushing his hand over her cheek, and she fell back asleep with a smile. He stood, walking past you like you weren't even there.
"If anything happens to Rin, you'll be answering to me."
"The hell, are threatening me! You really have some nerve you rude piece of shit! Even if you didn't ask I'd help Rin." you huffed, but he didn't stick around to hear the rest of what you had to say. You grumbled, pissed. "Wish I could unlive that experience." you moved your attention back to Rin, checking her temperature and changing the wet cloth on her forehead.
"Stupid Yokai bastard." You really hoped you'd never have to see him again.

"Sesshomaru-sama!" At the sound of his name, your face contorted into a grimace. Rin was always excited when he came to visit, but you were less than thrilled. He landed right in front of her. He never really smiled, but you supposed if he didn't care about her in some way he would never make the effort to visit. Inuyasha was mirroring your irritated look, and Kagome smiled from her spot in the fields.
"I feel sorry for you Inuyasha, you're related to that piece of trash."
"Keh, you're telling me."
"Come one he isn't that bad." Kagome's comment made you and Inuyasha turn to her with a glare.
"A-Ah, t-then again, I could be wrong." she corrected. When he was done talking with Rin, his eyes glanced in your direction. He walked over, and the closer he got you could feel your irritation rising.
"You're lucky Rin is alright." your eyebrow twitched as you exploded.
"W-WHAT THE HELL CAN'T YOU EVEN MUSTER UP A SIMPLE THANK YOU MORON!!" he closed his eyes, ignoring you, but Jakken stopped waving his stick in your face.
"You will speak to Lord Sesshomaru with respect, human!"
"Beat it shrimp!" you howled kicking him into the air. You growled, snarling at him from behind his back.
"Bastard is always walking around like he's a king. Who the hell does he think he is!"
"Don't worry (Y/N), thankfully we don't have to see him often." Inuyasha encouraged. You felt better knowing he disliked his brother as much as you did.
"Thankfully." you spoke, getting back to what you were doing.
