12 - Demon of War - Part 1.

"...flaris...FLariS...Wake...FLARIS!! WAKE THE HELL UP!!! WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING DAMMIT!" My eyelids opened slowly as the smell of dirt flowed through my nostrils. My hands gripped the dirt underneath my body.

What the hell is going on? I thought to myself as I felt my tail move from its resting position against my chest to back where it belonged behind me. My gaze shifted towards where the loud yelling was coming from.

"Flaris, what the hell do you think you're doing?! This is no place for a nap you demon." I rose to my feet listening to my codename coming from a familiar voice regaining my composure. My gaze was met with my General's, he stared into my eyes for a moment before flinching and looking away.

"Damn I still can't bring myself to look into your eyes for too long, that blue glow is just creepy." The man standing in front of me insulted my blue eye's glow, whenever I shifted into this form my eyes did seem to glow like blue flames making people scared of me for just another reason.

I looked to the ground feeling sadness take over my body for a moment before switching back to war-mode, "I'm sorry General Atikus, I don't know what happened there."

"Save it demon, listen we need you back at the front lines so you're gonna have to get in the air and get up there."

I met eyes with my General, "I understand, what's the status of the enemy's lines?" I reached down to my side belt and pulled out my pistols checking for ammo, "Do you have more ammo? I ran out."

He glared at me so intensely it made me wince, "Look me in the eyes Flaris." 

I did as told and looked into his emerald eyes slightly afraid knowing what he was about to say. "You know ever since we forced you into the military that when in battle you have limited ammo, you are a weapon Flaris, nothing more. So no, I do not have ammo to spare, you are going to use your Quirk, what else would we have trained you for?"

My eyes shifted downwards and were met with dirt staring back at me, the smell of blood, gunpowder, and death flowing into my nose. Tossing my guns to the ground I took a moment to assess my body, still feeling out of it and slightly confused. 

Dirt, blood, and scratches covered my exposed legs, dried blood and more minor injuries covered my arms as well. I wiped off some of the dirt from my spandex camo shorts and black tank top. Not too bad, could be a lot worse. I'm not missing that many scales either. I should probably check my wings and give my tail a look too. 

My tail whipped around to be in front of my eyes, I reached out and took hold of the scaly red tail and examined it all the way to the triangular end. With minimal effort I let my tail engulf itself in flames, making sure nothing was wrong. Letting my tail go back to its casual swinging motion behind my back I took a second to check my nails that were now long and pointed as if talons, they seem okay too. 

My right hand moved to my mouth, opening my jaw my fingers explored my elongated canines, just to make sure they didn't chip by chance, nope, top and bottom still sharp as ever. Moving the same hand up to the top of my head I felt for the two small sharp horns that rested there, okay good, if either of them had broken that would have hurt so bad.

I should probably wait to check my wings until he tells me what I need to know.

 "Well, here's what we got a few moments ago. Private Jason said that they managed to push their front lines to their second line of defense, which is good for us. Their numbers are still strong so we need you back up there to thin them out. The Japanese General has also instructed me that the enemy seems to be struggling with keeping up. So, your task is simple, get in the air and kill as many of their soldiers as you can, per usual Flaris, nothing new."
