I Fell For You

Chapter 19: Propose

I was staring at the price of the white sofa set I have my eyes on. I think it's the perfect match for the small living room at my house but I couldn't really decide if I should buy it because it was too pricey.

I only have more than half a hundred thousand budget for this month. Mapagkakasya ko naman iyon para sa basic needs ko pero kung gagastos ako ng madami para sa mga kagamitan sa bahay, I might stay broke 'til my next sahod.

I have to buy a few appliances pa to complete the house, like television, bread toaster, washing machine, and refrigerator. Iyon palang, siguradong hindi na kasya ang budget ko. I also need to buy a small glass table for the living room, and also, curtains, and blankets. I'm planning to buy a new bookshelf, too, pero tingin ko ay susunod na buwan na iyon o 'pag nakaluwag luwag na. 

Demi and Kuya Cryd extended their financial help but I chose to not accept it. I have to learn how to budget my own money nang walang inuutang sa iba. Ayos na sa akin ang tulong nila sa paglilipat ng aking mga gamit kahapon.

Isa pa, Kuya Cryd already gave me a dining set as a gift. Si Mommy at Daddy naman ay nagpadala ng mga kitchen utensils and groceries. Gusto nga ni Daddy na siya na ang bumili ng ibang appliances but I refused. I can't accept more from them.

"Hi, Ma'am! Ano pong hanap nila?" The sales lady approached me when she noticed me. "Sofa set po? Maganda po itong puti, Ma'am. Malambot at mura lang."

Napangiwi ako sa sinabi niyang mura lang. It's twenty five thousand!

I didn't know a couch would be this expensive. Noong bata ako, lagi akong natutuwa sa tuwing tumitingin sa mga furniture shop. I will always dream about buying stuffs like these and decorating my home. Pero ngayong nasa punto na ako ng buhay ko na 'yon ay nakakapanlumo pala lalo kapag hindi naman ganoon kalaki ang aking budget.

"I'll look around po muna," I smiled at her. Ngumiti naman ito at hinayaan akong maglakad-lakad pa sa section na iyon.

I spotted a dark grey corner sofa with a lower price. Halos kalahati ang ibinaba ng presyo nito sa nakita ko kanina. I was aiming for a pastel themed house, and I don't think this would suit it.

But I really need to buy one na since my friends at work will be coming over next week. Excited na ang mga ito sa pinaplanong inuman. Hindi ko naman sila pupwedeng paupuin sa sahig.

Kumunot ang noo ko habang iniisip kung ano ang dapat na bilhin. Well, if I were to be practical, I should choose 'yong mas mura na at the same time cozy pa din naman. Pero mas maganda at mas bagay naman sa bahay ko iyong mas mahal na nakita ko kanina. And personally, I want the white ones because I have light pink pillows that would match it perfectly.

"But it's too pricey..." frustrated kong bulong sa sarili.

In the end, I went out of Abenson and just strolled around the mall muna without buying anything. Dapat pala may isinasama ako sa ganito. That way, I could ask for their opinion. Pero kapag sinama ko naman si Demi, malakas ang kutob ko na pipilitin niya akong siya na ang magbabayad. Minsan ay hindi ko iyon maintindihan. She seems kuripot pero may times na ang gastos niya din.

Same goes with Kuya Cryd kung siya ang isasama ko sa pamimili. Si Ate Sav naman ay abala sa mga bata. Si Madelaine naman ay masyadong busy sa trabaho. I guess she's in a construction site now with her mentor, Architect Castriel. Ewan ko ba kung bakit parang hindi naghihiwalay ang dalawang iyon.
