"Your Highness..." I greeted with a small bow. My heart was beating faster than usual. I'm still in shock to see the princess waiting for me at my doorstep.
My mind was already thinking about all the possible reasons why she is here. Nang iangat ko ang tingin ko sa kanya ay nagpakita siya ng isang simpleng ngiti. Even with that smile, I am not quite assured that this meeting would be for good.
Does Ephraim know that she's going to visit me? I doubt. Sasabihin agad ito sa akin ni Ephraim kung alam niya nga.
"It's nice seeing you again, miss Genieva..." she said. Her voice was just polite. And she looks beautiful as ever even with her simple red dress.
Her brown hair is pulled up in a pony tail, but there are a few strands of hair covering the sides of her forehead. Her green eyes looked so soft yet it speaks authority at the same time. Tuwid na tuwid rin ang pagkakatayo nito at ang dalawang kamay ay magkadaop.
Bumaling ang mga mata niya kay Zafir na nasa likod ko na pala. I went out of his car completely forgetting about his presence dahil sa pagdalaw ng prinsesa. He's now carrying the grocery bags from earlier.
Nagkatitigan kami ni Zafir. I was hoping he'd at least acknowledge the presence of a royalty but he didn't even bother to bow his head at her, or even give her a glance! So rude...
"Open the door. I'll leave once I put these groceries down," bulong nito sa akin. Suddenly, the thought of him leaving me with the princess alone made my heart jump in fear.
"Don't..." natutop ko agad ang labi ko at hindi na iyon natuloy. It would be selfish of me to make him stay. I know he somehow hates the royalty.
"Who might he be?" The princess' tone became a little playful. I immediately hate how she said it as if she caught me red handed!
"Who might you be?" Zafir countered in a rigid tone before I could even speak. Nagtaas ito ng kilay sa prinsesa.
Umawang ang labi ng prinsesa, hindi makapaniwala sa inasta ni Zafir sa kanya. "Excuse me? I'm the crown princess of Salaria, Serenity Elena. I hope you pay some respect, mister."
"Ahh," Zafir responded unwillingly. Hindi na niya pinansin ito pagkatapos. Hindi ko alam kung dapat ba akong matawa sa nangyari o matakot para kay Zafir dahil maaaring magalit ang prinsesa sa kanyang ginawa. Napansin ko pang aambang lalapit sa amin ang isang bodyguard ni Princess Elena pero pinigil ito ng prinsesa.
"Hey..." Zafir turned to me. I bit my lower lip and was about to tell him to just leave like he wanted pero naunahan niya ako.
"Take her in. I'll stay for a while," he said firmly before turning away from me. I felt a bit relieved upon hearing that. At least I won't be alone while I talk to the princess. Mukhang napansin ni Zafir ang pagiging uncomfortable ko sa presensya ni Elena.
"He's my friend, Your Highness. He's name is Zafir, and he's here to help me prepare for a party with my friends tonight," paliwanag ko.
Elena only stared at him with daggers in her eyes. Pero lumamyos din ang tingin nito ilang segundo ang lumipas.
She stayed composed. I feel like she's trained to stay calm even when she's clearly pissed with the way Zafir acted.
