Grandfather Howard

In this one shot, Tony Died (I know I'm so evil) and Pepper never wanted kids, Howard is alive. He takes care of Peter till he's old enough to leave the house, to the outside world they seem like a normal family, but what happens behind closed doors, stays behind closed doors.

Mental and emotional abuse, death (I don't want to spoil anything so yeah..)  so trigger warning.

Also I don't know if I'll put it in but Howard will probably say some really mean things about the LGBTQ community so don't kill me okay? I might not even put that stuff in.

Anyway here we go.

Ten year old Peter watched as they put his father into the ground, he had small tears in his eyes, but no emotion on his face. He wanted to be strong like his dad, plus he didn't want Grandfather Howard to see him crying, the rain started to go down now. Everyone was at the Stark's manner, dressed in black, Steve looked over to see Peter in a chair alone in the corner, he went over to him.
              "Hey Peter." Steve said, Peter looked up, you could tell he was crying, "it's okay to cry Pete. Your dad just died." Steve hugged him. Peter then broke down, Steve just held him, Nat saw and walked over. She put a loving hand on Peter's back, he just cried and cried, Howard saw. He just turned away, not paying any mind to his grandson, he was talking to Rhodey.
               "I think it's best if Peter stays with me Mr. Stark." Rhodey says, "I am his uncle, and Tony trusted me with Peter." Howard shook his head.
                "I am his grandfather, I'll take the responsibility into caring for my son's kid, plus I've been caring for him for about a week and an half." Howard said, Rhodey sighed, he knew Tony didn't want his son living with Howard, so in till he can get lawyers and a court date Peter is stuck with his grandfather, Rhodey shook his head and walked off. Maria waved him over, he walked to her, she smiled.
                    "I'll watch Peter, don't worry till the court date Peter will be safe in my hands okay?" She asked, Rhodey sighed, he looked over at Howard who just laughed and smiled with some people, then looked at Peter was was crying over his father's death.
                      "I'm not worried about Peter... I'm worried about Howard and what he'll do to Peter." Rhodey said, he sighed, "I was there when Pepper had Peter, that's the day she left, Tony was so devastated that he didn't let anyone see Peter but me." Maria rubbed his shoulder as tears left his eyes, "peter was his pride and joy, it just doesn't make sense as to why Tony would kill himself." Maria hugged him as he cried.

      After many of the guests left, it was just the Avengers and Tony's family, Peter sat at the window, still crying, but only to himself. Maria walked over and hugged him. "I miss him."
                 "I know you do, but I'll take care of you till Uncle Rhodey finds away to get custody of you." She said, Peter took in her jasmine and cherry blossom perfume, he just cried even more. He has to stay with the monster that is his grandfather, Rhodey was talking to Steve about all this and Nat as well.
                    "You've known Howard from the war, was he always so... mean?" Rhodey asked, Steve had to think a bit, Nat rubbed his back.
"I mean, he was a player with the ladies... but he's never been like what you are saying." Steve said, "I'm sorry Rhodey."
"It's fine." The Colonel said, Nat rubbed his back, soon most of the avengers left, Rhodey walked over to Peter.
"Am I coming home with you uncle Rhodey?" Peter asked, the man shook his head sadly, Peter looked down, "oh."
"Don't worry Peter. You'll be staying with me soon, I promise." Peter hugged his uncle, not wanting him to leave, Peter just cried. "I love you Peter."
"I love you too Uncle."

Two years pasted and a twelve year old Peter was at Private school, all the boys there knew who he was, the son of Tony Stark, and grandson of Howard Stark. That didn't stop them from calling him names, the suspected that he was gay, and made fun of him for it. Peter walked into his classroom to see Howard and his teacher talking.
"I'm gonna stop you right there Mrs. Jenkins, my grandson is not a f*g, he never has been and never will be." Howard said, the teacher saw Peter walk in, he just kept his head down walking to her.
"Sorry this was late Mrs. Jennie." Peter said, Howard have him a hard glare, "I mean Mrs. Jenkins." She nodded taking the paper.
"You can go wait out in the hall Peter, I'll see you when class starts okay?" Peter nodded and walked out, boys stood in front of the door watching, wanting to know what Howard and their teacher was talking about, Peter found a bench and sat on it, pulling out his book by Bruce.
"HE IS NOT GAY! YOU WILL CONTINUE TO TEACH MY GRANDSON IT'LL HE GRADUATES!" Howard yelled, everyone looked at Peter, who was now hiding behind his book, tears in his eyes, he wanted to be somewhere other then here. Howard marched out of the classroom, grabbed Peter, they were making their way to the front of the school, all the boys were laughing and whispering to each other, Peter just looked at the ground.
