The second task was coming up

The second task was coming up. Morrigan did have a small plan, it was working so far. The 53 minutes she could be underwater would buy her enough time if she completed it very fast. She decided that besides that charm, she needed one to propel herself forward.

Christmas was also the best holiday she had ever had. With her friends in Hogwarts, nothing went wrong. Instead the thirteen had settled on giving each other gifts. Morrigan had never been given so many gifts in all her life. She cried that night in Draco's arms of joy. Never had she felt so loved and appreciated. Even Aidan sent her a gift now that they weren't inside the blasted Lynch household.

Love. Friendship. Trust. Those things didn't make you weak. They made you strong. It made you strong because everything that you are willing to do amounts to the people you want to protect, and in her case, it was a lot.

They had gotten closer to Moody's true identity. Higgs and Montague had discovered that Barty Crouch Jr. escaped from Azkaban. They had sighted the man's evolving auburn hair into black. It was enough evidence that Barty Crouch Jr could be behind all of this. With what happened to her also at the cup, it seemed to connect and fit perfectly.

Cedric also picked up a thing or two about Moody. The ex-auror had told Cedric about the clue in the bathroom. It was a weird. He had suspected that Harry did not know about the clue, which was true. Harry was completely oblivious to the task. Cedric tipped him off on how to solve the egg, but nothing more.

She was walking towards the deserted classroom that Cedric and she used to practice when she collided with the one and only Saint Potter.

"Mor, just the person I wanted to talk to. I need to ask a favor, I know. I don't expect you to actually do it, but I need to ask you", he said.

She stilled and nodded.

"Don't marry Malfoy. Snape and Karkaroff. I saw them in a room. Their mark is darkening. It means Voldemort is about to summon them. Do you really want to be involved with them, Mor? He wanted to kill you two years ago in the chambers. I know you aren't like him. You saved me and Ginny. I know you aren't evil or bad. Please, Mor, don't marry Malfoy", he pleaded.

"Potter, contrary to your beliefs, Draco is not his father. Daphne is not her father. Crabbe and Goyle are not their parents. We are teenagers, for Merlin's sake. They are not death eaters. I am who I am because I need to, for my friends and for my fiancee. I am going to marry him, Potter, so refrain yourself from asking such favors, because you are right, I won't do it. How do you know I'm not evil or bad? I enjoy to dabble in wickedness, don't forget that Harry", she said, pushing his hand from her arm and walking towards the class.

Cedric eyed her, shaking with rage, but he didn't dare to ask. Sometimes, there where things that was best if they remain unsaid. He didn't want to pry.

Both champions nodded in advance. They knew what charm they would use. Before leaving, Cedric hugged her and wished her luck, she did with the same fierceness. She was glad to have Cedric. He was the type of friend to question everything and steer her into a better path away from her planning and scheming. He would knock sense into her.
