Silhouette

It's been a month since we came back to the Philippines and since I ended my career as a model. However, I am still the talk of the town. Many people can't believe that I just ended my career with that and that I am in a relationship with Kyle. When I came back, Mom and Dad threw so many questions to us. Kulang ang isang araw sa pagkwe-kwento namin sa kanila.

Last week, I was fuming mad because of what Elliot did to my cousin. I just can't believe that he left my cousin in their house alone while crying! And she also has bruises, there was also bloods. Takot pa naman sa dugo si Xylia. And now, hindi pa rin maka-usap nang maayos si Xylia. She would just cry and cry until she fell asleep. Tapos kapag gigising, iiyak ulit.

"Pupuntahan namin ni Mom si Xylia mamaya," I informed Kyle. We're here in his condo unit in Quezon City. Malapit-lapit din sa condominium ni Xylia.

"Okay... next week na lang tayong umuwi sa Batangas?"

Inilapag ko ang niluto kong dinner namin sa table. He was intently looking at me. He also unbuttoned the first three buttons of his longsleeve.

"Next next day na. Besides, I also miss Lola," sagot ko bago umupo.

Umayos siya ng upo at pinaglagay niya ako ng pagkain. After my last walk, he's always putting lots of foods on my plate. No wonders why my cheeks became a little bit chubby.

"Matutulog ka na ba pagkaalis ko?" We're not living with each other for now. Umuuwi pa rin ako sa mansion para makasama sina Mom, though halos ipagtabuyan na nila ako at laging sinasabi na tumira na kay Kyle. "Susunduin ako ni Mom."

"No. May aaralin pa ako."

Tumango ako sa kaniya bago sumubo ng pagkain. "After that, sleep, okay? Are you really sure that you are getting enough sleep? Saka ka lang ata nakakatulog nang maayos kapag katabi mo ako."

Tumawa naman siya at mabilis na pinisil ang ilong ko. I complained because it hurts! Namula pa nga ata. "Yah, because I always feel warm and comfortable when I am beside you."

"Pakasalan mo na kasi ako!" biro ko. Actually, dapat ngayon ay kasal na kami. I just suggested that we need to let the rumors and news fade first. Mahirap na dahil baka sa araw ng kasal namin, may mga media at magkagulo pa.

I don't want that. I want our wedding day to be beautiful, to be perfect. Ang tagal naming naghintay para sa isa't isa, tapos may mangguhgulo lang?

He did the dishes while I'm getting ready. May ilan din akong damit dito kapag biglaang dito ako matutulog. Paglabas ko ng kwarto niya, nakita ko kaagad sila ni Mom na nag-uusap. They are both smiling and laughing.

Lumapit ako sa kanila at binigyan si Mom ng halik sa pisngi. "Kailan ba kasi ang kasal? Aba! Hindi kayo bumabata pareho," natatawang wika ni Mom.

I love how casual Mom is whenever she is talking to Kyle, even my Dad. They immediately accepted our relationship without bringing the past. I am happy with that, however... there's still part in me that is sad thinking that we might have a hard time facing his family. I know it's now in the past... but I felt nervous because I know that Mr. Apollo, Kyle's dad once hated me... or up until now.

I am wishing for us to be happy. Ayaw ko nang gulo... I hope they accept me for their son.

"Bye," paalam ko. "I'll be going here tomorrow to cook us dinner."
