Half Alive
Everything came crashing down
During the time you least expected,
And from that moment you felt
Lost as you fought against it.But you couldn't believe what happened,
And soon you gave in;
Mixed emotions, tragedy, and loss
All fired within.For a moment you looked back,
Finding happy memories to cherish,
To seek comfort to fill
Your heart that has perished.You balked when you realize
These memories could never be replayed again,
In the life you belong in
From the life which was taken.One and then more tears
Trickled down your eyes,
As you regretted
All of those white lies.You wish to turn back time
To take each minute as gold,
Promising yourself
That you will always hold.What mattered the most,
What you wished would last,
What you loved about him,
Everything in your past...But despite all of this,
You want to stand strong
To show everyone you're fine
Even when you're lying all along.You try to hide tears
With a smile on your face,
But your actions tell otherwise
Of your fake bliss.Please forbid yourself from torture,
And show what you truly feel;
Stop lying to yourself
From thinking this isn't real.Cry because you feel sad;
Cry because you love him;
Cry because you have the right to;
Cry to make you feel better too.Takes months; take years of sorrow,
But when you come back
Be truly happy again;
Be the girl in tact.For now resort to missing him
To ease the pain inside of you;
Just remember we all got your back
In everything that you do.
