"So now you must be pretty sure that the Count and Countess are the murderer,." Yoongi tried to make small talk.
"You can drop the act Min Yoongi. You are neither a Korean nor a professor."
"What-what are you talking about?"
"When you pronounced Count and Countess, there were traces of a Japanese accent. You are from Tokyo, yes?"
"You got me. Min Yoongi, a detective from Tokyo for nearly 10 years now. And don't take those racial jokes seriously. I'm sorry, they were inappropriate. Hell, I'm half Buddhist myself."
"And you are lying again about your duration as a detective. Your gun is a Colt Army Special for an Official Police Positive model, issued in 2015. You were a policeman. When will the lies stop?"
"You got me again. And now I will leave."
"You can leave your gun behind as well."
Yoongi swallowed his temper placing the gun on the table and exiting the lounge.
Gong Yoo was sitting in his room looking at his beloved's photo. "My dear Yumi..this is an abominable crime and I am stuck, my Yumi. I cannot find the crack in the wall. Why does one of them elude me?," he stared ahead at his bedroom wall.
He looked down at the photo almost tearing up, "I have always been so sure. Too sure. But now I am very humble and I say like a little child, 'I do not know.' I am afraid, my Yumi." And he looked outside his window entranced by the snowflakes falling down, his manner almost childlike.
*TIME SKIP*
Gong Yoo had told Jungkook to gather everyone in the lounge while he would take some time to sort out his messed up thoughts. He was still looking outside his window when he heard a voice, "You asked for me. Another interrogation, huh?"
He looked to see Chaeyoung standing in front of him, "Ah no Miss Park. I enjoy your company. Please sit." And both of them sat down at the opposite ends of the bedroom table.
"I have a list of ten questions in my little black book."
"Well, it is black and it is a book so it is an appropriate name."
"Anyway, you have a clear mind and I thought you could provide some insight." He handed her his notebook.
"Hmmm... let's see. The handkerchief? The ashtray? Scarlet kimono? Floor manager's uniform? The time on the watch? Was he murdered then? Earlier? Or later? By one person or more? Whoa. Sorry I can't help you."
"Okay then, thank you."
"Perhaps there is an eleventh question you don't know to ask that will give you the answer to the rest."
"Perhaps. I could have pointed on the Countess Kim. I discovered she was Kim Ji-eun's sister."
"Is that so?"
"Yes. But I suspect that she might be innocent perhaps. Perhaps. So many people have lied to me in this hotel. Including you."
"Me?"
"Yes. You told me you had never been to North Korea. You also concealed the fact that at the time of the Kim Tragedy, you were living in their house working as a governess to the little child Kim Su-an.
"I have my living to get," she shrugged. "A girl who was detained in connection to a murder case. No decent family would hire me."
"Miss Park, you planned Daniel's murder. And then you sent the Countess to witness it. If she saw him dead, the Jisoo you knew might return. You tried to drug Lalisa Manoban since she was a light sleeper and could wake up anytime even if you were in the room next to her. But the Morphine only gave her a headache. She begged for an aspirin when Jungkook was sitting in his chair when the coast was clear at last and then you entered Daniel's room unseen. You loved Kim Suan. You killed Baekhyun," Gong Yoo's voice had encountered a sharp rise in tone.
At that moment, Chaeyoung's demeanour completely changed from seemingly innocent to fuming. "Baekhyun was a pig," she spat, "He deserved to die."
Gong Yoo shook his head, disappointed and went outside his room where a gunshot noise was heard and he could feel a stinging pain in his arm. He clutched his arm in pain and bewilderment upon seeing Park Jimin coming near him with his arm outstretched holding a gun.
"She didn't kill him. I did," Gong Yoo was frozen in shock, "Chaeng, go. I can't let you take the blame for what I did alone. Please, just go." Chaeyoung ran inside the lounge.
"Kim Junmyeon or as we called him Suho, was my best friend and commander. He believed in me. He sent me to medical school and gave me a future. Baekhyun destroyed him. I found Chaeyoung and then I found Baekhyun. Our plan was to originally reveal him to the police. But when I saw his face, I knew he didn't deserve a trial."
Gong Yoo spoke softly as if he couldn't believe him, "So you drugged Namjoon, changed the time on the watch so that you could lie about the time of death."
"I couldn't let Chaeyoung be accused. And Namjoon has a mind full of sins. I'm a soldier. A soldier kills to protect. And now I must protect myself. From you."
So all at once, he punched Gong Yoo hard and tried to shoot him again. But Gong Yoo knew how to fight too and they were engaged in a complete brawl. "Why aren't you dead yet?," Jimin panted out as he was on top of him punching him when suddenly he fell over. By Jackson. Who had knocked him down with a 'Hello Kitty' umbrella. "Gong Yoo, you okay buddy?"
"I will be," Gong Yoo breathed out wrapping a bandage around his bloody injured arm. "Once I talk to all of them at once. Let us wrap up this case now."
AN:- Okay got that all out. Now there would be a special chapter after this explaining the Kim family tragedy since the less number of details would have confused y'all. The special chapter would be from the author's perspective. After that there would be Chapter 9, the last chapter of this book. Then an epilogue.
Thank you to everyone who is reading this.
