All of them were sitting in the lounge at one table only. The room was full of silence and each one of them was glancing at each other with trepidation and anxiety.
They heard the door open and looked ahead to see Gong Yoo and Jackson coming towards them. Jackson sat down beside them.
Gong Yoo was holding his injured arm now wrapped securely as his gaze pierced through their bodies giving them chills.
Gong Yoo looked at each of them, "You tell your lies and you think no one will know. But there are two people who will know. Yes, two people. Your God and Gong Yoo."
"It is time to solve this case," he held his gun while walking towards their table and stopping a few metres in front of it.
"Dr Park Jimin asked me why I was not dead yet. And you crossed the answer. A sharpshooter who fails to kill someone at close range? Your shot was not a mistake, it was a surgery. You could not kill me, because you are not a killer," the detective looked at Jimin sitting next to Chaeyoung holding her tightly as if she might disappear into thin air any second.
"None of you are," he swept his eyes over all of them. "And yet someone must be. There are two possible solutions to this crime. The first one, difficult because it adds up with most but not all of the facts while the second one more complex. The first solution:- Daniel had enemies. A rogue mafia steals into the hotel's west wing, when Namjoon, Jimin and Taehyung were drinking in the bar. Equipped with a floor manager's uniform and master keycard, stabs Daniel and makes his escape through the window."
"No, no, no, no" everyone turned to Jackson who seemed to be overwhelmed, "It doesn't add up. Who drugs Daniel? Why hide the uniform? Who stabbed Mrs Choi then. And you said yourself, that no one can jump from 35000 feet and survive. Only the police can be so stupid to believe that. Damn it, man."
"So, I ask who stands to benefit? This crime is the murdering of a murder. The benefit is perhaps for the spirit and ease of suffering, to quieten a shouting voice in the head that prevents sleep. There is a murderer amongst us."
Turning to Jimin and Rose he said, "So we have Dr Park Jimin, a dedicated grateful friend to Colonel Suho. He meets and finds solace in the company of the governess, Park Chaeyoung who is almost like a mother to the little girl..And so close to the younger sister of Kim Ji-eun, Kim Marie Jisoo married to a powerful man, Count Kim Seokjin, a great friend to Suho and no stranger to rage and violence," he looked at the Count and Countess.
"We have here today Su-an's godmother aunt and Ji-eun and Jisoo's cousin, Kim Jennie to whom belongs this monogrammed handkerchief with the letter 'J'.
"But we are not yet done," he enunciated each word looking at Lalisa. "The nurse in charge of Su-an, her newfound religious zeal born out of guilt at allowing the little girl to be abducted...it was you was it not that night two years ago when Daniel snuck inside the house. Did you maybe have a glass of wine too many with your supper that night. Have you blamed yourself ever since for not being alert enough to be able to stop him?"
Lisa began to sob with Jungkook embracing her to comfort her, "She knew nothing but kindness and love until...until..I.." she broke down completely.
"No need to ask me Sir, I was Colonel Suho's friend and batman in the army. Afterwards his valet. As fine as a man God ever made." said Taehyung caressing Jennie's head lying on his shoulder and putting an arm around her heaving shoulders.
