Gong Yoo walked over to the West Wing elevator holding his key card and adjusting the straps of his backpack. He pressed the button to summon the elevator and while he was waiting for it to reach that floor, a woman chattering to herself walked over there.
"OMO (Korean phrase for OH MY GOD!), the room service is horrible. I literally asked them three times to bring me new bedsheets. And guess what, when they finally brought them, the sheets smelled like lilies and not lavender. How may I ask is this is a five star hotel? Oh, annyeonghaseyo (hello) you must be a new guest in the West Wing.", she ranted on and then finally noticed him. Now that he got a proper look at her, she was a beautiful lady wearing expensive clothes.
He cleared his throat and replied curtly, "Yes Ma'am, I would be at the top floor." At that moment the elevator dinged and opened in front of them and they both got in. The woman pressed the top floor button and the doors of the elevators closed. "My name is Choi Jiwoo, by the way and I don't like this hotel. You are that detective right, Gong Yoo ssi? You must be very intelligent, no?"
Gong Yoo sighed. He was getting tired of his reputation now. So far everyone he'd met except Jackson, knew him as the detective who solved the Korean crown case. Was it simply to much to ask for a good dinner alone and a long sleep? And even before he could reply to the hyper woman's statement, she started chattering on about how the amount of sesame seeds put in the hotel restaurant's bibimbap was horrendous.
He resigned himself to leaning against the wall inside the elevator until the doors opened revealing the top floor. "Well, annyeong (bye) dear it was very nice to meet you.", she said and ran away to her room at the end of the hallway." "What an eccentric woman," he said to himself.
"She is, isn't she?," said a voice right next to him which startled him. He looked to see a good looking young man approaching him. "Ah, I seem to have startled you, Sir. My sincere apologies. Let me introduce myself. Annyeonghaseyo, I am Jeon Jungkook, this floor's manager at your service. It is a pleasure having you here in the West Wing. I look forward to serving you and hope you have an enjoyable stay."
Gong Yoo liked the honest look on his face and the sincerity with which he spoke. "He seems to be a man who is truly devoted to his job whether he likes it or not," he thought. He then spoke up, "Annyeonghaseyo, my name is Gong Yoo. Can you tell me where is room 305 and how to use this..er..card as a key I guess?." "Of course Sir, follow me please."
"I must apologise for I do not know how to use modern facilities in hotels like keycards. I am used to using keys instead in small motels." "I quite understand, Sir. It is certainly difficult to switch methods. When I was a young lad I too stayed in those places with my sister." Gong Yoo noticed that there was a small crack in his voice upon saying "sister" and his back noticeably stiffened up.
Jungkook took him to his room and inserted the keycard in the card slot fixed on the door which then opened. "So Sir, this is your room. I hope it is to your liking. If you require anything you can call room service using that telephone kept on the table near your bed or you can also summon me by pressing that red button on your side of the door. I shall come to your service immediately for I take the late night shift from 9 pm to 9 am. I will now take your leave so that you can make yourself at home. "
Jungkook then walked out of the room after bowing to him, giving Gong Yoo a chance to admire the opulent room. Now as mentioned earlier, he preferred simplicity but now he was slowly getting used to the affluent nature of the hotel. So he began unpacking his stuff.
