Katrina Diaz

"I— I need to go somewhere." I couldn't help the stutter as I swayed on unsteady feet.

"At 2:48 am?"

Playing with the ends of my jumper, I shifted on my feet, slightly embarrassed. "Some girly stuff."

"What kind of stuff? Did you suddenly realise your true calling is witchcraft after all these days?" He hiked a brow in question.

Suppressing a rustle of irritation, I narrowed my eyes, fanatically aware of the dripping, scared that I might taint the polished marble floor.

As though noticing the creasing of my forehead, Hayden stalked forward. "What happened?"

"I'm bleeding," I mumbled, resisting the urge to pull my hair out of my skull. He reached for my wrist, inspecting it, and a groan of frustration spilt from my lips. Yanking my hand back from his grip, I whirled around as embarrassment poured over me. "Not that. Just let me go, okay? I'll be back quickly."

"At this time, Spitfire? Have you lost your marbles? " He clutched my left arm, halting me from moving.

Anger knotted at the base of my neck. "Bloody hell! If I drip on your precious marble, don't come to me crying!"

Hayden blinked, evidently gobsmacked by my boldness — maybe even wondering if I had a filter to my mouth.

Damn him to hell! I needed a bloody tampon. And he won't let me go to the store.

Frustration bubbled in my veins as a sharp stab of pain lanced through my womb, sending tears to my eyes. My periods were very irregular — twice a year maximum — but when I got them, then there was no stopping me from becoming a banshee. I bled like Niagara falls and withered like a cobra in pain.

"Will you let me go? Or catch my blood while I bleed, Arsewipe?" A groan left my throat, my words stretching between us, and I resisted the urge to cry, biting on my lower lip. Standing on my aching legs was an effort on its own and men — privileged knob-headed creatures — were blissfully oblivious to it.

"I— 'll get them. You can rest." He pinched the bridge of his nose. He didn't look disgusted or embarrassed; he looked slightly... lost, like he didn't know what to do.

Good for him because I wasn't the kind who had expectations from my partner. Cain, my only ex, used to ghost me the entire week when I was on my period. And I wouldn't be surprised if Hayden was uncomfortable or disgusted either. Men were men.

"Drop the chivalry, hubs!" I dismissed him, sauntering over to the staircase. A hand on my shoulder halted me, and annoyance scraped the back of my neck instantly.
