"You're so cute, what the hell?"
He giggled. And again, she could say that it sounded prettier than a jingle of wind chimes when caressed by a gust of wind.
"So, okay, tell me if I'm moving too fast, but you like me, and I like you... what does that make us?" Chan hesitantly questioned.
"Well... we're just two people who like each other..."
"And?"
"And understand each other on a high level..."
"And?"
"But are both too shy to take a step to ask each other out," Aisha laughed, making him laugh along.
"Let me just..." Chan fake coughed, and then spoke with a clearer voice, "Heo Aisha, would you like to date me?"
"Already?" she couldn't stop giggling.
"Um, did I take it too quick?" Chan asked in a genuinely worried tone, and it made her giggle more.
"No, monsieur, you did not. If you wouldn't have asked me out, I would've done that," she spoke, sounding confident, but her cheeks blushed crimson.
"You're so gutsy! I could never," he sighed.
"So, what's your answer?" he continued.
"Let's see... what are we gonna have? A little summer romance, huh?" she teased him, controlling her laughter.
"Well..."
"Well?"
"Well, if a summer romance means getting really attached to each other and not letting go no matter what, then I guess we can have a little summer romance," Chan declared.
Aisha was speechless. She didn't know he felt this strongly for her, and even though it was a tad overwhelming initially, she couldn't help but agree to his words. Color rose to her face, and she clicked her tongue, saying, "Geez, why do you have to be so smooth?"
"How you doin'?" he tried like a dork, which ended up with both of them laughing.
"Okay, Joey Tribbiani, I have an answer."
"Really? What is it?" Chan impatiently questioned.
"Yes, Chan, I would love to go out with you," she said, grinning, and as if he could feel the smile through her words, he hummed in satisfaction.
Silence clouded the line for a few seconds.
And then they laughed at the awkwardness.
"What now?" Aisha laughed.
"I don't know! I've only ever dated once before," Chan chuckled.
"Yeah, I dated twice during my school time. Both of them were very weird."
"Like?"
"Like one of them was hell bent on getting intimate with me. And the other? Gosh, he turned out to be gay once we started dating!"
Chan laughed hard, and it sounded like music to her ears. For real though, too cliché.
"Hey! I thought something was wrong with me once he claimed that he was gay after meeting me!"
"Why would anything be wrong with you? You're, like... too amazing to let anyone walk away from you!"
"You really think that?" she slowly asked.
"Of course! I do!"
She didn't know what to say to that. Her shyness and awkwardness always got the best of her.
"Thanks, I guess?"
"Hehe."
Next chapter:
"I can explain!" Jisung hurriedly spoke, "Peppa Pig is-"
"It's fine," he was still laughing.
"Don't let this information leak!"
