Sitting down in front of the mirror, Ellie licked her lips and wiggled her nose. With a smile on her face, she noticed Felicia staring at her with her hands on her waist.

“What are you looking at?” she asked Felicia’s reflection, raising her eyebrows.

“Can’t I admire my beautiful friend?” Felicia asked, walking towards Ellie. “It’s such a shame the guys you met are losers, just take a look at your pretty face. I’ve always been envious of your face and curves, I must confess.”

Ellie turned to her and chuckled. “Envious? You have a nice body! Just look at all of that behind you.” Ellie smacked Felicia’s ass.

“Ouch, that hurts!” Felicia pouted.

“If you’re done complimenting each other, can we leave now?” Lily opened the door of the washroom, emerging in a blue floral dress. She had her permed, black her tied in a bun.

“Sure.” Ellie got up from the chair and tapped Felicia on the back. They followed Lily out of the room. “I can’t find my charm bracelet. I’ve looked everywhere.”

Lily closed the door behind them and locked up. “Which bracelet?”

Ellie glanced at her and Felicia and bit her lip before answering, “The one Michael got me.”

Lily sighed. “You still have it?”

Ellie nodded. “ I can’t seem to get rid of it. It holds a special place in my heart.”

“Or you mean Michael holds a special place in your heart? “ Lily lifted her brows.

Ellie shrugged. “It’s been missing for two days and I can’t seem to be myself without it.”

Felicia held Ellie's shoulder. “You need to start living without it. It’s better that you can’t find it.”

Ellie frowned. It wasn’t better. The charm bracelet felt like the only thing which gave her hope that’d she’d be happy again, even though it sounded ridiculous. With the anonymous person sending her those messages, all she could make out and hope so much was for Michael to come back and apologize to her. She’d forget how much he’d hurt her and they’d begin their relationship all over again.

“Okay.” Ellie nodded and forced a smile. “Let’s head to the beach. It’s almost seven pm.”

They descended the stairs to the ground floor and walked through the entryway that led to the beach. It was a dark starry night and the full moon glistened in the sky. The breeze was cool and slightly chilly, setting the atmosphere into a serene one as they walked on the sand. Cheers and soft old time music could be heard from the bar and grill on the beach with couples and singles enjoying themselves.

“Is that Daddy Lumba? Gosh, this man is so explicit!” Ellie chuckled.

Felicia grinned. “And a legend too. I love all his songs.”

“Of course you do. And you know almost every song and every artiste. I still can’t believe why you’ve not turned a musician yourself!” Lily sneered.

“Duh.” Felicia rolled her eyes and took out her phone from her purse. “Where’s John? I need to call him.” After dialing his number and moving the phone to her ear, someone bumped into her with a loud thud causing her phone to slip from her hand and fall to the ground.

“What the heck-” She quickly looked over her shoulder just in time to see a young man squat on the ground to pick her phone.

Ellie and Lily looked at each other and back the man when he lifted his head to look at Felicia.

“I'm so sorry.” He said and lifted himself up from the ground. “It was an accident.”

“What? You should’ve watched where you were going, Mister.” Felicia scowled. She snatched her phone from him and stared at the screen. “You should thank your stars it didn’t crack. You would’ve have been in deep trouble.”

He smiled at her. “I’m glad to hear that.”

Felicia sighed and angrily shoved her phone into her purse.

“Sorry once again.” He said, his voice soft and little raspy.

“It’s alright.” Ellie said and smiled at him. “Are you a contestant?”

“Yes.” He smiled back. “You are?”

“No. Just my friend here, Lily.” Ellie gestured to her left side at Lily who flashed a nervous smile.

“Oh yeah. I’ve seen around.” He stretched his hand. “My name is Harris.”

Lily reluctantly shook his hand. “Lily. Nice to meet you.”

“Same here.” Harris continued to smile and drew his hand away. “What about you? I hope you don’t mind me knowing your name?”

“Felicia.” She said nonchalantly. “And that’s Ellie.”

Harris nodded. “It was nice meeting you. Hope to meet again.”

Ellie nodded. “Sure. Good luck tomorrow.”

“Thanks.” He turned to Lily. “Good luck too.”

Lily nodded.

They watched him as he walked away with his eyes glued to his phone.

“He’s nice right?” Lily asked, glancing at both Ellie and Felicia.

“Yes. Might be fun working with a handsome dude like him.” Ellie said.

“Fun? You’re wrong. Today’s the first time I’ve spoken to him.” Lily replied. “He hardly talks to anyone.”

“I think I’m crushing on him.” Felicia blurted.

Ellie furrowed her brows and laughed. “You’re not serious. Not too long ago you were threatening him. I thought you were going to slap him.”

“Yeah. I only did so not to sound nervous.” Felicia sighed. “But he’s lucky the screen is okay. He would’ve gotten me a new one.”

Ellie giggled. “Yeah, right.”

“He’s a tough competitor. His culinary skills are just great.” Lily frowned.

“Why are you frowning. You’re jealous?” Ellie chuckled, nudging Lily softly in the ribs.

“I'm not. I know I’m going to win.” Lily smiled.

“Yeah. That’s the spirit!” Ellie grinned.

“Can someone call John? He’s nowhere to be found.” Asked Felicia as she squinted her eyes.

Ellie took out her phone and dialed John’s number as they approached the bar and grill. “Where are you?” She said into the phone when John answered.

“Right on the seat at the far end enjoying my barbeque.” He replied. “I can see you guys.”

Ellie glanced around until she saw him waving at her.

“Alright.” She hang up and turned to her friends. “He’s over there.”

After a while of drinking and munching on some barbeques, Ellie and her friends decided to head back to their rooms to rest. Lily needed to prepare for her meal tomorrow.

“You’re going to do just fine, babe. Don’t worry.” Felicia hugged Lily tightly.

Ellie nodded. “Yes. We believe in you.” She changed into a pink pyjamas and hopped on the bed. “I’m tired. I’ll sleep now.”

“Good night. I’m going to sit with Lily as she works. We’ll sleep later.” Felicia replied.

“Sure.” Ellie placed her head on the pillow and turned to face the wall. She soon fell asleep.
