The smile on Ellie's face wiped off when she opened the door and saw Paula. Frowning, she pursed her lips and waited for her to give the reason why she was at her door.

Paula was in a pink T-shirt which she over a blue denim jeans. Her hair was held in a tight ponytail and her fingers clutched on a black purse which hang on her shoulder.

"Hi, Ellie." Paula smiled. "You don't look so pleased to see me."

"I...Uh...I'm just surprised. I wasn't expecting you." Ellie replied.

"No worries, I understand." Paula nodded. "Can I come in?"

Ellie furrowed her brows. "Is there a problem?"

"Not really." She smiled. "Don't you think it's about time we actually had a great chat with none of us acting like a prick?"

The weird smile on Paula's face after talking made Ellie uncomfortable. Why would Paula want to talk to her? "Is this about Michael?"

Paula's smile quickly wiped off. She cleared her throat and smiled again, "Not this time."

Curious to find out what she wanted to say, Ellie opened the door and allowed her in.

"I didn't expect this place to be this nice." She commented, her eyes darting around the room.

"Is that supposed to be a compliment or an insult?" Ellie looked over her shoulder at her, lifting her eyebrows.

Paula chuckled. "It's a compliment, I guess."

Ellie shook her head and gestured at the sofa, "You can have a seat."

"Thank you." She nodded and sat in the sofa. "It's actually great that I found you alone in this room."

"Why?"

Lily, Felicia and John had left for shopping, they should be arriving anytime soon.

"Because that's what I've been wanting for a long time." She went on. "Just you and I, and no one else."

"Whatever." Ellie squinted at the amused look on Paula's face. "Tell me why you're here."

She sighed and stared down at her fingers. "Are you sure you want to know?"

Ellie rolled her eyes. "Just go straight to the point, Paula. I was busy when you interrupted."

Paula's smile wiped off. "Alright." She crossed her legs and lifted her chin to look at Ellie.

Ellie raised her brows and waited to listen to Paula, but the ring from her phone distracted her. "Excuse me." She told her and walked to her bed to grab her phone from the headboard. It was Ashton calling.

She hesitated for a while before answering the call as she wondered why he was calling.

With the phone in her hand, she stared at the screen as it rang, admitting to herself how long it had been since she heard from him.

How long it'd been since she last saw him.

Was he calling because he couldn't get through to Lily?

No matter how much she tried to convince herself he and Lily could be a great couple, she couldn't help but feel jealous for how much he cared about Lily.

That shouldn't be a surprise considering how long they'd known each other. They'd practically shared their childhood together and it was normal for Ashton to be overly-caring and overprotective of Lily.

When the call ended, Ellie was brought back to reality. She couldn't believe she'd watch the call end in her hand. She sighed and turned to look at Paula who was now on her feet and had a scowl on her face.
