Alexina POV.
Voices swarmed around my head as I stirred frantically in my bed. They began to suffocate me, their viciousness making their way through my ears and what feels like my soul.
"You will lose."
The voice echoed through my head and I grabbed my pillow and wrapped it around my ears.
"Alex, help me,"
That voice, its too familiar. Why is he struggling? Why does he sound like he is in pain?
"BENNETT!" I screamed as I bolted from the bed and realised how erratic my breathing is.
Bennett.
Why can I hear him?
Beads of sweat covered and drip from my forehead as I leaned beack against the headboard.
I picked up my phone, wondering if it's worth it to even call my parents. Its only six in the morning, I got home two hours ago.
Knowing I'm not going to be able to sleep, I pulled a pair of black and white stripe leggings over my legs along with the biggest jumper I can find. My hair is already in its ponytail and I slipped my feet into some trainers and made my way out of my bedroom.
Quietly closing the door, I grabbed my keys and turned around to ensure that everything in the apartment is okay.
Last thing I need is Malin calling me because something bad has happened.
Running downstairs and outside, I reached my car. I turned around, searching the other buildings with my eyes making sure that nobody was there.
I climbed into the car but didn't move. I gripped the steering wheel, my head hitting my seat as a tear slipped down my cheek. The saltiness spreading across my lips as the tears continued to pour.
"Bennett." My voice broke.
Of all people it could have been that night. It was Bennett.
Putting my foot on the gas, I wiped my tears and drove out of the academy gates. Driving to the human part of town is something that I really shouldn't be doing but its something I do when I feel like this.
When I feel like pure shit.
Stopping outside the Lake mansion, I parked the car and entered the code into the gate.
The rain began to pour, dampening my clothing and my hair. Splashes of water covered my trainers as they repeatedly hit the floor forcefully.
I walked towards the mansion, its bricks have been painted a fresh white, a fountain in the middle of the drive with water surrounding it.
Knocking on the door, I wrapped my arms around my body, goosebumps on my skin.
What the heck is taking so long?
The click of the door caught ny attention and I looked up instantly to see Milani. Her face tired but her eyes widened when she saw me.
Her usual pyjamas a unicorn onesie with matching slippers covering her body and I watched as her bun flopped to the other side of her head.
"Lexi?"
Opening her arms she pulled me in to a warm hug, her arms circling around me as she ran her hands through my hair.
"Its okay, you're okay," she soothed.
Am I though Milani?
Am I okay?
