Alexina POV

I sat curled up with a blanket pulled closer to me. My body feeling the heat from the fire as Alistair turned the television on.

I never imagined that this would be the place where he would hide, I expected it to be dark and grim but in his very own words... "being the most powerful supernatural in the world has its perks."

I've been with Bennett since I got here, not wanting to leave his side. Alistair thought it would be great for me if I relaxed on my own for a while.

"You should give yourself more credit than what you do kid." He sighed. "You're too engrossed in helping other people that you ignore your own feelings." He spoke softly and I played with my fingers.

Does he think that I don't understand what I do?

I ignore my own feelings because those closest to you the closest to you for a reason.

If I can stop that one girl being a bitch towards Connor or if I can let my own guard down in order to make Grayson realise I'm not that closed off person that he thought I was.

As long as you're important to me, I'll do what I can to protect you.

Being the fire element brings me all sorts of perks, in this world we're classed as royalty, you know not to cross an elemental because its against the law. Although we have enemies, there is still a great deal of respect. You're strong, independent, have the courage to do anything and everything you want. But then there is the negative of constantly not stopping. You always have something to do, these can be both mentally and physically draining but we don't stop. Its not in our nature to just stop. You start what you finish, don't start it if otherwise.

"What is the outcome of this whole ordeal Alistair? I just, I'm so confused. I've gone from looking for scripts and reading books to be trapped in the undergound because of a crystal." I chuckled at myself as I glanced down at my phone.

One missed call- Grayson Melvin.

Oh Grayson. I can't believe I haven't messaged him, or anyone for that matter.

I can imagine them all arguing. TJ will be getting on everybody's nerves, Grayson and Hudson will be stressing out, Connor will most likely be very upset while Billy won't know how to react.

Missing Grayson wasn't a thought until now. Now I have to go and entire month without seeing him or feeling him.

His warm body and how my own body reacts to it. How my skin touches his, the goosebumps that raise when our bodies make contact.

The soft touch of his lips, how my fingers run through his soft hair.

"Excuse me?" Someone called out and I saw Alistair waving his hand in my face. "Are you awake now?"

"Yeah," I blinked before turning to him. "What were you saying?"

"I'll tell you once you go and ring lover boy." He gestured to the door behind me. "Do not tell him anything. It could jeopardise the whole plan."

"Okay," I answered as I stood up and made my way to the room behind me.

Two days I've been here, and its still full of surprises. Rooms left, right and centre, Alistair completing spells I've never even heard of but he has told me that he is a firm believer in old magic.
