Florian's POV
I fucked up.I should've told her. Now I don't know where she is or what she's doing or what she knows and doesn't know. I'm assuming if she remembers our marriage then she remembers it all.
I sigh pacing around the kitchen. She's been gone for over an hour now and I was starting to get worried.
I picked up my phone to call her again but it went straight to voicemail. I groaned in frustration.
Kelly just had to come back and mess things up. That's all she ever does is fuck things up for us. It's like she's our relationship kryptonite.
I grabbed my keys and headed out. I figured if I drove by her house and saw her car there then I would know she was home safe.
I hopped in the car and began driving, my fingers tapping on the wheel anxiously.
Nicole's POV
I drove around for a while before coming somewhere I knew would calm me down.
The beach where Florian took me to relive our first date.
It was colder than before. Winter had settled in and the breeze coming off the water sent a shiver through me.
I sat there sifting through my memories. My mind recounted Florian and I's relationship. The ups and downs. Me and Michael relationship. The strength it's grown as we've gotten older and more mature. Kay and I. Best friends but more like sisters and one day that could be in more than just emotions.
My mind went back to earlier today with our encounter with Kelly. I hated that she had known more about my life in that moment than I did. Florian held the key to unlock my memory and yet he chose not to. I understood that we decided not to tell anyone else because of the circumstances but he should've told me.
I drew circles in the sand with my legs folded under me. I wrapped my arms around myself as another breeze blew in.
I felt something draped over my shoulders which made me jump. I was engulfed in the scent of Florian's favorite cologne. I turned and saw Florian sit down in the sand next to me.
"I thought I might find you here." He said softly looking out to the ocean.
"This is where I felt the biggest overlap with what happened before the accident and rebuilding my life after. This is where our love story kinda started and then restarted. Also the waves are pretty calming."
He nodded. "This spot is pretty important for us." I looked over at the closed fair. The lights weren't on and the playful air wasn't there anymore.
I sighed. "I shouldn't have run out like that." I spoke softly.
"You're right. You should've let me explain... but I get it. You felt like I was lying to you. But I wasn't trying to. I just wanted you to regain your memory before I dropped something that big on you." He explained.
"I get it. You didn't want to overload me. But," I took his hand in mine, playing with his fingers "you're such a big piece of my life. Of me. You're my husband," a smile came across my face as I said and he looked to me smiling. "Of course something as important as us being married would be a key piece of my memory."
He leaned over and kissed my forehead, lingering there for a few moments before resting his chin on the top of my head.
"You're my everything. My peace, my happiness, my wife. I don't think I could do this life without you." He said softly.
"I wouldn't want to do it without you." I replied. I leaned my face towards his and kissed him slowly, passionately savoring this moment between. We pulled away shortly after just staring at each other as the cold air wrapped around us. I shivered.
Florian stood up, offering a hand out to me.
"Cmon lets go home." He said. I smiled and took his hand as he pulled me up. I grabbed the blanket and he walked me back to my car.
"Follow me home and I'll cook then we can do whatever you want ok?" He said as he stood in my open door.
I smiled nodding pulling him in for another kiss before he shut my door and jogged back to his car.
We drove back to his place and as soon as he began cooking I hopped in the shower rinsing the sand off me. I dried off and slid on a pair of sweatpants and one of Florian's shirts before making my way out into the kitchen, finding him finishing up the food.
I walked behind him and slid my hands around his waist, poking my head around his arm to see the pan.
"Mmm that smells good." I complimented as I took a whiff of the food.
"You're just in time I just finished up. Thanks mama!" Florian said turning to his phone that he had propped up. I hadn't noticed.
"Cu placere, iubire! (You're welcome baby.) Hello Nicole!" She waved through the phone.
"Hello!" I waved back excitedly. She asked me about how I was feeling and I told her I was back to normal which caused her to cheer with excitement. She blew kisses at us before saying bye and end the call.
Florian plated the food and brought it over to the table for us to eat. I sat down excited.
"Ok I don't know if I'm more excited to eat a traditional Romanian dish or to eat something you actually made." I joked.
"Haha." He replied sarcastically. "Ok dig in tell me what you think I need your genuine reaction." He sat back in his chair and crossed his arms watching me take my first bite.
I slid it in my mouth and chewed on it for longer than usual to mess with him and build up his anxiety.
"So?" He asked nervously.
"Hmmm," I tapped my chin and he huffed "I'm joking! It's delicious!" He sighed in relief. And dug in himself letting out a satisfied moan.
