- Leigh's POV-
"You what?!?" Jesy yells, jumping up off the couch.
"I was protecting you guys." Destiny's weak voice repeats, sitting up and rubbing her head.
"By getting yourself hurt?!?" Jesy continues, anger in her voice.
"No..." Destiny trails off, and I get up.
"Don't lie, it's not convincing me." Jesy says firmly, clenching her fists.
"I didn't know he was planning anything." Destiny says quietly, looking at the floor.
"Jes... Calm down..." Perrie tries to soothe her, rubbing her shoulders.
I sit next to Destiny, ready to protect her if Jesy loses her temper...again.
"That's it, I'm going after that little fucker." Jesy sneers, grabbing her jacket.
"Jesy! He'll kill you!" Jade tries to stop her, pulling on her arm.
"Not if I kill him first." Jesy retorts, getting her shoes on.
Destiny jumps up, getting a firm hold on Jesy's shoulder.
"You aren't leaving." She says strictly, which shocks me quite a bit. She's never shown her dominant side before, at least not around us. Most of the time she just goes along with everything, and doesn't take a stand.
"What are you going to do about it?" Jesy fires back, both of them furrowing their eyebrows.
"We can't risk anyone else getting hurt. I care about you too much to let you go out there and get yourself killed." Destiny replies, standing her ground.
"I care too much about you to let Mitchel and Amber get away with this!" Jesy yells back, but Destiny doesn't even flinch.
Destiny stands in front of the door, blocking it with all she's got.
I'm pretty sure the other girls are almost to scared to interfere, and so am I.
"They aren't going to get away with this. But right now we all need to take a break and recover." Destiny says in a calmer tone, taking a deep breath.
Jesy nods, taking off her shoes and jacket. Destiny moves away from the door, putting an arm around Jesy.
Silence falls among us, but it's not uncomfortable.
To me, it's relaxing, and a sign that we're okay for now.
I cuddle into the recliner I'm sitting in, subtly looking around at all the other girls.
Jesy and Destiny are cuddled up again, as they were before. Jade and Perrie are too, but I don't mind being alone. I like seeing others happy, plus I'm not one to cuddle up to some one.
I close my eyes slowly, daydreaming of random thoughts that pop into my head.
Tiredness takes over, and I slip into a dreamless sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Leigh..." I hear some one whisper my name while shaking me awake.
I ignore it, continuing to rest.
"Leigh..." The voice says again, shaking me harder.
"What?" I groan, slowly opening my eyes.
"We have to go." I recognize Jade's soft voice, and I open my eyes completely.
"Why?" I ask, not processing why some one would dare to wake me up.
"Mitchel, Tyler, Jarod, and Amber are looking for us. We have to go now!" She says more frantically, pulling me up off the recliner.
At this point I'm too tired to realize how much danger we're actually in, but I go with it.
I'm rushed into getting my shoes and coat on, then out the door.
I get into the very back of the van, buckling up lazily.
I start waking up, realizing what's actually happening.
The van speeds off, jolting me awake completely.
"Where are we going?" Perrie asks, taking the words out of my mouth.
"The city of London. I've got a friend there that can help us." Jesy replies, making my eyes go wide. "It's going to be a long drive, you can go back to sleep Leigh."
I don't know if I want to go back to sleep, but we'll see I guess.
"Auntie, you have to stay in Hawaii. It's not safe here." Destiny says into her phone, and I can tell she's stressed by her tone of voice.
"Well tell them that you need to stay! Find somewhere to go!" She continues, and the rest of us go quiet.
"Because Jarod, Mitchel, Tyler, and Amber are after us. You've missed a lot, I know." She explains, rubbing her temples in frustration.
"No you have to... Auntie! Hello?!? Hello?!? Shit..." She curses as she hangs up, rubbing her forehead.
"What was that about?" I ask, rubbing her shoulder.
"My Aunt is already coming back from Hawaii, and it's probably the worst time to come back! Mitchel and Amber have used them to threaten me, I can't let them get hurt!" She bursts, breaking down into tears. "Life can be so unreasonable sometimes!"
I continue rubbing her shoulder, trying to calm her.
"Wanna come sit back here?" I offer, and she nods, unbuckling and coming to sit beside me.
I signal to Jade and Perrie to lay off a bit, knowing how overwhelmed Destiny can get when too many people are trying to comfort her.
As crazy as it sounds, it's true.
I pull her into an awkward hug, letting her cry on my shoulder.
I rub her back, knowing how she feels, almost too well.
I remember when I used to cry on my brother's shoulder, before Hunter killed him.
I didn't grow up in a friendly home, my parents were constantly fighting. It was just me and my brother, we had to look out for eachother. I knew I always had his shoulder to cry on if I needed to, and know I have that with these girls. Maybe that's how Destiny feels too, like we're always here for each other.
I don't even realize I'm crying until Destiny pulls away to look at me, wiping my tears.
"We all have such a strong bond... Let's not break that. Ever." She stutters out, putting aside the whole Auntie situation.
"We need to make sure your Aunt is safe, let's not forget the big problem." I remind her, calming my emotions.
Destiny's eyes suddenly go wide, looking around aimlessly.
"I know where they can go." She announces, smiling widely.
"Where?" Jade asks, speaking up after waiting for a bit.
"My Aunt Mary and Uncle Ron's old house. Jarod and them will never look there." She explains, and I can immediately tell she's more at ease.
I can see her texting her Aunt Helen, her thumbs moving quickly.
"You sure we'll be safe in London?" Perrie asks, tapping her fingers on the dash anxiously.
"Hopefully." Jesy answers honestly, a hint of being unsure in her voice.
Here we go again...
