Hello my slightly [or very] crazy readers!! FINALLY AN UPDATE!

I want to apologise for not updating for a month. I'm really very sorry.

Anyway, yes, this is sad, and it's set after The Giant War.

Disclaimer - I wouldn't have left you on a cliffhanger [MoA] if I was Rick Riordan. That's all that needs to be said.

Enjoy reading!!

3rd Person P.O.V

Tear-stained cheeks. Bloodshot eyes. Red nose. That was everything Annabeth had.

She sat stock-still in the gloominess of the Poseidon Cabin. She sat cross legged on his bed, clutching his hoodie.

Her tears had run out, she couldn't cry anymore.

Annabeth took a deep breath, 'It's okay, I'm okay. I've been through a lot, this is one more thing added to the list. I'm going to stop crying now.'

But she couldn't do that. Her tears betrayed her. They spilled over her cheeks again.

Annabeth was in too much pain to notice them. She was too far gone in pain. She fell back onto the bed, still clutching his hoodie, sobbing uncontrollably.

The demigods had done so much for the Gods, and the Gods still couldn't save him. The one that was the greatest hero of their time. The one that saved them hundreds of times. he was gone.

"WHY?! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO TAKE HIM AWAY?!" Annabeth yelled out at the ceiling, she was in too much grief. "AFTER EVERYTHING WE DID, EVERYTHING HE DID, YOU STILL WERE TO SELFISH TO SAVE HIM!" Her voice broke and faded to a whisper, "Why? Why didn't you-" She collapsed into another burst of tears.

Right then, Piper burst into the cabin, bringing in rays of light into the dark cabin.

Seeing Annabeth as such a mess didn't surprise her anymore, after he died, she refused to come out of his cabin, refused to train, refused to eat. She wouldn't do anything.

Piper ran to Annabeth and hugged her. Annabeth cried into Piper's shoulder.

The daughter of Aphrodite softly comforted her until Annabeth's heart throbbing sobs turned into soft whimpers. She pulled back and looked Annabeth dead in the eyes, "Annabeth, I know you've been going through a lot, but we all need you. Please Annie, Camp Half-Blood isn't the same without you."

Annabeth looked at her hands and whispered, "Camp Half-Blood isn't the same without him." Him. Percy. Percy Jackson, son, boyfriend, brother, friend and hero to all had died in the war. And the Gods did nothing to stop it.

Tears pooled in Piper's eyes as well at hearing about Percy. She and Percy had formed an unbreakable bond like siblings, and losing him had hit her hard as well. "I know, I know Annabeth. But this is not how he would want us to live, how he would want you to live."

"It's not that easy, Piper." Annabeth said, extreme emotions clearly visible in her anxious eyes. "IT'S NOT THAT EASY!"

Piper breathed shakily. She knew she would never understand Annabeth's grief. Annabeth had gone through so much, she deserved a happy ending. But, of course, the Gods ruined that.

"He was my everything, Piper. He was my whole world." Annabeth said, opening up to Piper. "I loved him so, so much. And after Ta - Tar - the pit...He was the only thing that kept me going. Now..." Annabeth broke off with a weak laugh.

Piper embraced her again. "I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry."

They sunk to the floor and hugged in silence, trying to find peace.

After a while, Annabeth murmured, "He's really gone. I won't ever be able to hug him when I'm sad, or - or feel the comfort of his arms around me, or hear his terrible jokes again or the feel of his soft lips on mine."

Annabeth started crying again, "He's gone."
