"Kept you hopped up on pills." Diego pipes in tucking his shirt into his pants.

CHAPTER 6
1963
I wake up to the sound of screaming causing me to bolt upright. I'd recognise that scream anywhere. Diego.
"Shhh." I hear Lila state. I quickly run out of the bedroom and into the main living area.
"What is this?" I question attempting to cross my arms across my chest. My mouth widens as I take in the scene.
"What happened to you?" Lila questions noticing the wound on my shoulder. This caused Diego to look up at me. I unconsciously place my hand on my shoulder. "What's wrong." Lila pokes his wound with a metal stick causing him to fall back and groan.
"I ran into an old family friend." Diego gives me a confused expression before arching his body back from the pain. "What happened?" I sit down on the couch opposite watching the two. His skin sizzles causing me to wince.
"I saved his stupid life." I scoff as Diego speaks.
"Were you following me?"
"Uh, hey, how about a little gratitude, knife boy. If it wasn't for me, you'd be dead."
"Well actually if you hadn't of found him, 5 would have and-" I begin but stop in response to her expression, filled with anger.
"That's twice now by the way." I sigh standing up.
"I'll be back, you know when he's dressed and whatever this is, is over." I state using my hands before walking over to the laundry room.
"Where are my clothes?" I hear Diego question loudly before he groans in pain. I continue my way to the laundry before opening the door and pulling my white shirt out. I quickly put it on under my dress and walk back out to see 5.
"Oh good, your alive." He states looking over to Diego as I walk into the room completely dressed. He smiles in my direction. "Blood free." I smirk in his direction as Lila speaks.
"Disappointed?"
"Oh, to see you? Always." I chuckle at 5's response.
"So much hostility in such a tiny package."
"You don't even know the half of it." I chuckle in his direction as he gives me an annoyed expression. I look up the clock before sighing. "I better get going, I have a shift starting in half an hour." I walk off, out the door and towards the bar positioned on the side of the street.
